POSITION SUMMARY

The Web Solutions Developer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of PRPA's external website, ensuring a modern, accessible, and user-centric digital presence aligned with the organization's strategic communications objectives. Working closely with the Communications team, this role leads the build and ongoing enhancement of the website using WordPress, translating business and stakeholder requirements into an intuitive, secure, and scalable platform.

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Business, the Web Solutions Developer also supports the digital transformation of PRPA's business processes by designing and implementing online forms and workflows to replace manual, paper-based processes. This role ensures that web solutions and digital forms are efficient, integrated where appropriate, and aligned with PRPA's broader digital and technology strategy.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Designs, develops, and implements PRPA's external website using WordPress, ensuring it is modern, accessible, secure, and aligned with organizational branding and communications objectives.
  • Collaborates closely with the Communications team to translate content, branding, and user experience requirements into an intuitive and engaging website design.
  • Establishes and maintains a structured development, staging (beta), and production deployment process leveraging Git version control to ensure changes are versioned, tested, and reliably promoted to the live website.
  • Ensures the website meets accessibility standards, usability best practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains and manages both English and French versions of the website using WPML (WordPress Multilingual Plugin), ensuring content consistency, accuracy, and synchronization across both languages.
  • Modernizes legacy manual and PDF-based processes into responsive web workflows, utilizing modern client-side JavaScript frameworks integrated with internal systems
  • Ensures all solutions align with PRPA's IT security, data privacy, and digital governance standards.
  • Provides training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal staff to support ongoing content management and use of digital tools.
  • Stays current on emerging web technologies, WordPress capabilities, and digital experience trends, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Maintains security posture for WordPress application and plug-ins.
  • Completes assignments on behalf of the Manager, Digital Business, and others, as required.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Works predominantly in an office environment.
  • Regular, full-time position (37.5 hours per week). Regular working hours are Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Formal Education

  • Degree or diploma from a recognized College or University in Web Development, Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Media, or related field.


Related Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in web development, including designing and developing websites using WordPress.
  • Experience developing responsive, accessible, and user-focused websites.
  • Experience implementing and managing web-based forms and workflows (e.g., form builders, workflow automation tools).
  • Experience with website hosting, deployment, and ongoing maintenance practices.

The base salary range for this role is $90,969-$113,711. This position is eligible for an additional 10% of the monthly base pay in lieu of health benefits during the contract, as well as a 10% annual performance variable pay.
