Full Job Description
The WCE Field Specialist on-site works at the direction of the Client's onsite representative. The role involves the following activities:
Take single-point responsibility for the on-site delivery of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) services to the Client.
Ensure that all operations, at any stage, comply with the MPD Program and equipment limitations.
Communicate and report all deviations from the MPD Program to the Drilling Engineer/ Engineering Coordinator/ Project Manager.
Review and verify the content of the MPD Program provided by the MPD DE is valid and accurate according to the operation to be executed.
Maintain records and reports of service delivery, maintenance, and inspection records. File all equipment documentation in the project's online repository with local copies available to the MPD team and Client representative.
Lead equipment rig up as per the planned P&ID and DPM Equipment Layout.
Verify data acquisition Installation and test integrity.
Test and verify that MPD Equipment at the rig site is fully operational.
Verify that MPD parameters are as defined in the MPD Program during all stages of the operation.
Determine if MPD parameters require a change outside the range defined by the DPM Drilling Engineer and Client Representative. Follow the appropriate management of change procedure for approvals prior to making the change.
Maintain, repair, and operate MPD equipment as per the established procedures and based on the capabilities available at the rig site.
Monitor drilling parameters and identify drilling events such as an influx, losses, washout, etc.
Participate in Well Control operations under the lead of the client's representative by delivering information about previous MPD parameters.
Maintain and ensure timely delivery of charts and reports for MPD Operations and MPD Equipment performance.
Collect and store all operational data in the project's online repository.
Ensure lessons learned are captured, logged in the project's online repository, and applied to all subsequent procedures.
Leads the Rig Down and shipping of the MPD Equipment from the rig.
Ensure adequate inventory of spare parts and tools are onsite.
The MPD supervisor is also responsible for all activities listed under MPD Operator/Technician.
Technical degree or equivalent field experience.
