Duties, Responsibilities & Other
- Work with the Project Manager for successful project execution.
- Design water and wastewater facilities including pumping stations, storage facilities and treatment plants.
- Prepare and review design calculations, engineering drawings, specifications, cost estimate, and technical evaluations and reports for various water and wastewater facility projects.
- Maintain accurate records of design calculations, reports, and correspondencePerform site assessments and feasibility studies
- Provide technical direction or supervision to junior engineers-in-training and BIM/CAD technicians, or other technical personnel.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including preparing permit applications and obtaining necessary approvals
- Construction administration and engineering services (submittal review, contract document interpretation, requests for information, shop drawing reviews, correspondence, and change orders), as required
- Communicate and coordinate with clients, utility owners, project teams including other engineering disciplines, designers and subconsultants
- Comply with all KCI policies and procedures.
- Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting project scope.
Work Experience:
- Proficiency with BIM and CAD design platforms, specifically Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience in process system design including pump head loss calculations and pump selection, treatment plant head losses, chemical system design, process equipment system design and similar systems.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight project deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative, multi-discipline design team with the initiative to work independently and take on additional projects as needed
- Ability to conduct field work at existing facilities to gather information for reports and designs.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Powerpoint is required. Experience with Microsoft Project is preferred.

Qualifications
Education and/or Skills Required:
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program• Strong Proficiency in required design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit.• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.• Good communication and technical writing skills.• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:• Ability to maintain required certifications
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Preferred: • Professional Engineer (PE) eligibility
