  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Contribute to the growth of the National Water Market Segment via business development activities and client management.
  • Communicate project expectations to team members and clients effectively.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews of projects.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical assistance.
  • Utilize earned value management to prepare and monitor project plans, schedules, and budgets.

Dewberry is seeking an experiencedProject Managertomanageandexecutemodeling and master planning projects for public utility clients.This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a team of energetic, highly engaged professionalsinDewberrysMid Atlantic Water Group.This position is available inboth Fairfaxand Richmond, Virginia.The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills to lead engineers and other professionals on a variety of projects, which may include but are not limited to:

  • Sewer Collection System Modeling
  • Water Distribution System Modeling
  • Hydraulic Transient Analysis
  • Water/Wastewater Master Planning
  • Asset Management

With support from the enterprise, the successful candidate willbe responsible forleadingand growinga team to execute highly technical projects. The ideal candidate will have strongtechnicalskills and be capable of pursuing newopportunities,assistingwith technical proposals,andpreparing project work plans and fee estimates.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a variety of water/wastewatermodeling/master planningprojects for public utility clients.
  • Managetheplanningphaseprojects whileinterfacingand coordinating with other engineering disciplines, technicians, inspectors, andpermittingspecialists
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of ourNational Water Market Segmentthrough performing business development and client management activities, including proposal preparation and client interaction through active participation in professional associations.
  • Effectively understand and communicate project expectations totheproject team and client.
  • Conduct QA and QC reviewsofother projects.
  • Provide technicalassistanceand mentoring of junior staff.
  • Employ earned value management principles to prepare andmonitorproject work plans,schedules,andbudgets.
  • Expand technical knowledge and professional network by attending seminars, workshops, and conferences, reviewing professional publications, and activelyparticipatingin State and/or National professional associations through committee involvement and technical presentations.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering. Masters degree preferred.
  • A minimum of10years of experience in the water/wastewater field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Project management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge and ability to apply theories, principles, concepts,and practices of civil and environmental engineering to theplanningof water, wastewater, and reclaimed water conveyance and treatmentsystems.
  • Experience in wastewater and/or water modeling.
  • A successfultrack recordof managing projects, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • A successfultrack recordin managing clients and developing newbusiness.
  • P.E. inVirginiarequired withthe ability to obtain them through reciprocity within one year of the start dateforNew York, New Jersey, Maryland, DC, North Carolina, Florida,orSouth Carolina, as applicable.
  • Must have proven and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Programmingand/or scripting experienceispreferred.

The projected range for this position is $130,000 - $167,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
