Make An Impact
- Designing pipeline assessment, rehabilitation and replacement projects for potable water and wastewater systems.
- Providing engineering support during design and construction for major regional water treatment projects.
- Leading design tasks by engaging directly with stakeholders throughout capital project design and construction phases.
- Participating in project management tasks such as defining scope, managing budgets, and project coordination.
- Meeting with existing and prospective clients to support our sales team and facilitate the pursuit of current and upcoming project opportunities.
- Enhancing your technical expertise through collaboration with leading professionals within the organization.
- Technical development opportunities include involvement in industry-leading projects, participation in research and development initiatives, and engagement in conferences.

Skills & Abilities- Knowledge of engineering principles of design.
- Principles of design include preparation of design documents for municipal projects.
- Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, Etc).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer).
- 5 years of related experience.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Preferred Qualifications- Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and/or wastewater analysis and design.
- Experience presenting technical concepts to municipal clients through written reports and presentations.
- Basic understanding of the design process (i.e., conceptual design through construction phase engineering).

Pay Range MinUSD $78,645.00
Pay Range MaxUSD $129,750.00
Additional Pay Range InformationCDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
Additional CompensationAll bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
