Full Job Description
Summary:

We are looking for a senior level engineer who is excited to join a dedicated team of engineering professionals who serve communities with water treatment projects throughout California. This position will actively pursue and lead projects for the evaluation, study and design of water treatment facilities. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of groundwater and surface water treatment process; analysis of water quality characteristics; and analysis of existing treatment plant processes.

Duties and responsibilities of the position include:
  • Oversee planning, analysis, studies, and design of treatment processes
  • Prepare calculations, consult with manufacturers, and select process equipment
  • Consult with local, state and federal agencies on permitting and regulatory approvals
  • Coordinate design with other technical leads on multi-disciplinary teams
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications and cost opinions
  • Serve as a technical resource to other disciplines within the company
  • Teach and mentor assistant and associate level engineering staff
  • Visit project sites and attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies (occasional travel may be required)
  • Prepare engineering services proposal and serve as project manager on treatment discipline projects


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Chemical/Environmental Engineering (or related field)
  • California Professional Engineer license
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in consulting engineering
  • Experience coordinating with the State Water Resources Control Board and preparation of Reports of Waste Discharge and Recycled Water Engineering Reports
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Civil/Chemical/Environmental Engineering (or related field)
  • Active in professional associations
  • Project management experience, a plus
