Job Description
WarCollar Industries is seeking a Security Operations Analyst to support a mission-critical customer by providing continuous 24x7x365 security monitoring and incident response. The selected candidate will play a key role in protecting mission-essential infrastructure by detecting, investigating, and responding to cyber threats across diverse network environments. This position is available across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, with fixed 4-day work weeks consisting of 10-hour shifts. Available schedules include Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday. Shift differentials are provided for 2nd and 3rd shifts. This position is fully onsite in McLean, VA and requires a TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph Clearance.
Shift Options:
• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Required Skills
Responsibilities:
• Monitor network environments and security systems to detect potential security incidents.
• Conduct in-depth analysis and investigation of complex security alerts to identify root cause, scope, and impact.
• Execute timely incident response and mitigation activities to contain threats and restore normal operations.
• Leverage threat intelligence and vulnerability management data to proactively identify emerging risks.
• Perform log analysis and correlate data across multiple security platforms and sources.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation and reporting of security events.
• Develop and refine incident response playbooks and security operations processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen the organization's overall defensive posture.
• Translate technical findings into clear, actionable executive-level summaries.
Desired Skills
Required Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity-related role.
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification within six months of hire.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, incident detection, and incident response methodologies.
• Experience working with operating systems, network protocols, and enterprise security technologies.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence and security incident response best practices.
• Proficiency in security log analysis and data correlation across multiple platforms.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical findings to both technical and executive audiences.
