Full Job Description
The Vice President, Strategy & M&A is responsible for building and leading Eventus WholeHealth's mergers and acquisitions function. This executive role owns the complete transaction lifecycle, including sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, negotiation, execution, integration planning, and post-close performance tracking. The position serves as a strategic partner to the Chief Growth Officer and executive leadership team in identifying, evaluating, and executing growth opportunities that align with the organization's long-term objectives.
The VP, Strategy & M&A combines the analytical rigor of an investor with the practical execution of an operator, developing acquisition strategies that expand Eventus WholeHealth's footprint and enhance enterprise value while supporting the organization's mission of delivering high-quality care to residents of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
Qualifications: Education, Licensure and Certifications, Related Work Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
• MBA, master's degree, or other advanced degree preferred.
• 8 to 12 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, corporate development, or a similar transaction-focused role.
• Demonstrated experience leading acquisitions from origination through close.
• Healthcare services experience preferred, particularly in physician services, post-acute care, long-term care, behavioral health, or value-based care.
• Prior experience as an investor in private equity or growth equity strongly preferred
• Experience leading or supporting post-merger integration activities preferred
Other specialized skills and knowledge necessary to perform this job (e.g. basic accounting principles, computer skills and software, specific healthcare processes, interpersonal, communication, etc)
Advanced financial modeling, valuation analysis, and investment underwriting expertise
M&A transaction structuring, negotiation, and due diligence experience
Excellent executive communication and board presentation skills
Strategic planning, relationship management, and project leadership capabilities
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Design and establish the M&A operating model, including governance, diligence standards, approval processes, templates, tools, and reporting frameworks
Build and maintain a robust acquisition pipeline by developing sourcing strategies and cultivating relationships with business owners, investment bankers, advisors, and industry contacts.
Conduct market assessments and develop investment theses to identify attractive acquisition opportunities aligned with company growth objectives.
Lead comprehensive diligence efforts, including financial, operational clinical, legal, compliance, and regulatory assessments.
Build and review financial models, valuation analyses, business cases, and investment recommendations for executive leadership and Board approval.
Structure and negotiate transaction terms, including purchase agreements earnouts, and other commercial provisions.
Coordinate internal stakeholders and external advisors, including legal counsel, accounting firms consultants, and investment bankers throughout the transaction
process.
Partner with Operations, Clinical, Finance, and functional leaders to develop acquisition integration plans and support successful post-close execution
Monitor post-acquisition performance against investment assumptions and provide regular reporting to executive leadership and the Board.
Support broader enterprise growth initiatives, annual planning efforts, investor-related projects, and other strategic priorities as assigned.
