The Vice President, Software Engineering will lead the technology strategy, engineering delivery, and modernization of Asset Management Solutions. This leader will manage an organization of approximately 60–70 engineering professionals while remaining hands-on in technology, platform architecture, and delivery decisions.
The role is responsible for transforming legacy applications and migrating capabilities to an integrated, scalable platform. The VP will drive adoption of AI-enabled tools and practices, strengthen engineering execution, and ensure the technology roadmap aligns with evolving buy-side market needs and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and inspire a team of 60–70 software engineering professionals, managers, and technical leaders.
- Define and execute the engineering strategy and technology roadmap for Asset Management Solutions.
- Drive the modernization and transformation of legacy applications, including migration to an integrated platform architecture.
- Remain actively engaged in technical decisions involving application architecture, platform strategy, integration, scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Partner with product, business, operations, and technology leaders to prioritize investments and deliver solutions aligned with client and market needs.
- Identify and advance opportunities to embed AI across the software development lifecycle, engineering operations, and business-facing solutions.
- Establish modern engineering practices across Agile delivery, software quality, testing, release management, observability, and production support.
- Apply knowledge of buy-side business trends, workflows, and technology needs to shape platform capabilities and modernization priorities.
- Lead organizational and technology change initiatives, communicating a clear vision and creating alignment across stakeholders.
- Influence senior leaders, engineering teams, and cross-functional partners to build commitment and drive execution against strategic priorities.
- Establish clear performance metrics, delivery governance, and accountability for engineering quality, platform stability, modernization progress, and business outcomes.
- Recruit, develop, and retain strong engineering talent while fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Deep experience in Buy Side OMS and Asset Management
- Significant leadership experience in software engineering, application development, platform engineering, or technology transformation.
- Demonstrated success leading engineering organizations of substantial scale, including managers, architects, and software development teams.
- Deep technical knowledge of software architecture, enterprise applications, APIs, Kafka, Java, C#, cloud platforms, systems integration, and modern software delivery practices.
- Proven experience modernizing legacy applications and migrating technology capabilities to integrated, scalable platforms.
- Experience driving technology transformation, organizational change, and adoption of new engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of AI adoption, including the use of AI tools across the software development lifecycle and in business-facing technology solutions.
- Knowledge of the asset management and buy-side technology landscape, including market trends, workflows, and evolving client needs.
- Ability to operate as a hands-on technology leader while setting strategy and leading through a large organization.
- Strong executive communication, stakeholder-management, and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build followership, align diverse teams, and lead complex change initiatives through execution.

Salary range $275,,000.00- $300,000.00 USD. Bonus Eligible.
