Job Description:Baker Tilly is seeking a
VP of Platform & Production Engineering to lead the platform and production capabilities that enable the firm's AI agents and products to reach production securely, reliably, and at scale.
This leader will own the platform layer, including the vendor integration platform, agent runtime and environments, shared platform services, AI-native software development lifecycle and CI/CD, quality engineering, online evaluation, DevOps, observability, release mechanics, and production engineering. The VP will also oversee the production handoff with the enterprise technology organization, ensuring AI products can be effectively operated and optimized at scale.
The VP will build and lead the Platform & Production Engineering team and partner closely with AI Engineering, Data & Intelligence, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Product Management, and service-line technology teams. This leader will establish the standards, pipelines, controls, and release processes that allow both internally developed and third-party AI solutions to move efficiently from development into the hands of practitioners.
Responsibilities- Build and operate the platform layer, including the vendor integration platform, agent runtime and environments, shared platform services, and AI-native software development lifecycle and CI/CD.
- Own the path to production for internally developed and third-party AI solutions, including release mechanics, production approvals, security reviews, quality engineering, observability, rollback, and production handoffs.
- Establish and maintain integration standards for third-party AI solutions, including event and webhook interfaces, APIs, MCP endpoints, identity, and entitlements.
- Develop and operate CI/CD pipelines that incorporate automated evaluation, quality and security controls, and traceability from product requirements through production release.
- Lead online evaluation, scaled ground truth, regression discipline, and release quality for AI products operating in production.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture to establish and maintain production handoff standards that enable enterprise technology teams to operate and optimize solutions at scale.
- Build and lead the Platform & Production Engineering team, including platform engineers, quality engineering, and DevOps / production engineering talent.
- Partner with platform and MLOps engineering teams in India to establish consistent engineering standards, operating practices, and delivery expectations across locations.
- Establish clear release standards and operating agreements with AI Engineering and Data & Intelligence teams to ensure solutions enter the production process with the appropriate requirements, evidence, and readiness.
- Partner with service-line technology teams and systems-of-record owners to integrate AI solutions into the workflows and platforms practitioners use.
- Work closely with the Chief Architect, Product Management, Security, and other technology leaders to align platform architecture, production requirements, security standards, and release readiness.
- Bring platform and DevOps capabilities developed with external partners into the organization and establish sustainable, Baker Tilly-owned processes and runbooks.
- Engage and participate in special projects or complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree a plus.
- No certifications or licenses required.
- 15+ years of platform, infrastructure, or production engineering, including senior leadership of platform teams that serve multiple product teams.
- Has owned the path to production for product software inside a large, regulated, or professional-services enterprise - approvals, security review, operating-model handoffs - and shipped through it repeatedly.
- Deep CI/CD, DevOps/SRE, observability, and release-engineering practice at scale; has built pipelines where quality and security gates run as code.
- Has built or operated AI/LLM platforms - gateways, runtimes, evaluation in production - or led platform teams serving AI product teams; strongly preferred.
- Has run an integration platform or API program with external vendors held to a published bar.
- Has led distributed or US-India engineering as one system; has brought partner-built platform capability in-house.
- Demonstrates personal AI leverage: designs and builds with agentic tools as a force multiplier - the working standard for this team.
- Platform engineering: runtimes, environments, shared services, event-driven integration, API and MCP design.
- Production engineering: CI/CD, release mechanics, observability, rollback, security review as code.
- Quality engineering for AI systems: online evaluation, ground truth at scale, regression discipline.
- Enterprise delivery: production approvals, identity and data boundaries, operating-model handoffs.
- Engineering management: hiring bars, standards, dependency management across organizations.
- Executive communication: production truth told plainly, early.
