TD Securities (TDS) is seeking an experienced Model Governance professional to support the continued evolution of its Front Office Model Governance framework. Reporting to the Director, TDS Models Governance & Control (G&C), this role will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) responsible for evaluating the current state of model governance practices at TDS, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and helping design and implement an enhanced target state governance framework aligned with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
The successful candidate will possess strong expertise in model governance, model risk management principles, and model lifecycle oversight, coupled with a working knowledge of pricing and valuation models used within capital markets. The individual will partner closely with other 1st Line of Defense (1LoD) teams (model owners, model developers, etc.), and engage with enterprise functions such as Model Risk Management (MRM), and internal audit to develop and sustain mature governance for front office models.
This role is primarily focused on framework design, governance uplift, policy/standards/procedures development, and strategic transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Governance Framework Assessment
- Assess existing TDS model governance practices against regulatory expectations and industry-leading practices;
- Perform current-state versus target-state assessments across the model lifecycle;
- Identify governance, oversight, change management, monitoring, and accountability gaps; Evaluate governance frameworks supporting pricing/valuation, risk, and other model types used within TDS;
- Support development of strategic initiatives and governance maturity roadmaps;
- Draft policies, procedures, and standards to reflect the enhancements made to TDS governance framework;

Required Experience
8-10 years of experience in model governance, model risk management, model validation, quantitative risk, or related financial services governance functions.
Demonstrated experience designing and uplifting model governance frameworks.
Experience drafting governance standards, procedures, policies, and control documentation.
Experience working with Model Risk Management and Internal Audit functions.
Strong understanding of model lifecycle governance principles.
Familiarity with regulatory guidance relating to model risk management.
Required Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of model governance and model risk management concepts.
Strong understanding of model lifecycle controls.
Working knowledge of pricing and valuation models (i.e. risk-neutral pricing methods) used within capital markets environments.
Understanding of model development, implementation, validation, change management, monitoring, and retirement processes.
Familiarity with governance expectations applicable to model inventories, annual reviews, model changes, implementation governance, and documentation standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within investment banking, capital markets, or broker-dealers.
Familiarity with SR 11-7/26-2, OSFI E-23, and other regulatory guidance.
Experience supporting regulatory examinations or audit reviews.
Experience performing governance maturity assessments and target-state design exercises.
