Role SummaryThe VP, IT Operations is Anuvu's senior operational technology leader, reporting directly to the Chief Digital & Technology Officer. This role owns day-to-day enterprise IT operations, reliability, cybersecurity, infrastructure and cloud, enterprise applications/ERP, service management, vendors, cost, and operational architecture. A critical responsibility is the availability, resilience, security, and evolution of Anuvu's specialized network and infrastructure that support delivery of content and connectivity services to aviation and maritime customers. The VP serves as the operational counterpart to the CDTO - translating strategy into disciplined execution and enabling the CDTO to remain focused on product, digital strategy, and technology-enabled growth. This role requires a pragmatic, hands-on, commercially minded leader who can stabilize the current environment while simplifying and modernizing it.
What You'll be DoingNetwork, Infrastructure & Cloud Operations- Own the reliability, performance, security, and lifecycle of Anuvu's global technology infrastructure and the specialized network that supports content and connectivity delivery to aviation and maritime customers.
- Ensure end-to-end availability and resilience across network, on-premises, cloud, and edge/service-delivery environments, with clear monitoring, capacity, redundancy, and escalation standards.
- Simplify and standardize legacy and on-premises infrastructure, moving workloads to cloud where it improves resilience, supportability, or cost.
- Own AWS operational governance and cost optimization, including rightsizing, tagging, commitments, and accountability for cloud spend.
- Maintain and test business continuity and disaster recovery for critical technology services, with documented recovery objectives and restore testing.
Cybersecurity & Resilience- Own enterprise cybersecurity operations and remediation, including endpoint, identity and access, vulnerability management, network security, logging/monitoring, and security vendor performance.
- Lead the organization's readiness for and maintenance of SOC 2 attestation, and drive measurable progress against Cyber Essentials and applicable ISO 27001 and NIST obligations, with clear remediation plans, evidence collection, audit cycles, and executive reporting.
- Drive security awareness across the organization and ensure security policies and procedures are current, enforced, and well understood.
- Own technology and security incident response, including detection, escalation, containment, communications, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action closure.
- Embed security and resilience requirements into infrastructure, cloud, ERP, application, vendor, backup, and recovery decisions; regularly test control effectiveness and recovery readiness.
IT Service Delivery, MSP & Vendor Management- Own day-to-day IT service delivery, including service desk, incident, problem, change, request, and asset management, with clear internal SLA/SLO performance and ITIL-aligned process maturity.
- Serve as the senior internal owner for the MSP and other key technology vendors; define SLAs/KPIs, run service reviews, manage escalations, and hold providers accountable for performance, security, and cost.
- Own the technology vendor and licensing portfolio, including selection, contract and renewal governance, rationalization, and a current inventory of software, hardware, and agreements.
- Establish disciplined operational reporting for uptime, incidents, service performance, vendor performance, technology spend, and key risks.
Enterprise Applications & ERP- Own the enterprise applications portfolio and the ERP, CRM, and integration strategy end to end, including roadmap, lifecycle, integrations, upgrades, data integrity, access controls, and technical platform accountability.
- Ensure ERP and financial systems meet compliance requirements, including SOX-adjacent controls where applicable.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and business leaders to simplify the application landscape, improve process support, and make fact-based build, buy, upgrade, or replace decisions.
- Manage ERP and enterprise-application partners and system integrators to defined scope, quality, security, cost, and delivery expectations.
- Maintain an up-to-date view of Anuvu's technology landscape and architecture so new tools are secure, supportable, integrated, and aligned with the broader technology strategy.
- Ensure enterprise applications have clear ownership, support models, lifecycle plans, and operational controls.
DevSecOps, Observability & Architecture Governance- Establish practical DevSecOps standards for CI/CD, secure coding, code scanning and testing, release management, and production support.
- Where application development sits within IT, provide appropriate engineering leadership; where it sits in product engineering, partner with the CDTO and product leaders to apply common operational, security, and release standards without duplicating product ownership.
- Own operational observability across infrastructure and applications, including logging, monitoring, tracing, alerting, and service-health reporting.
- Chair the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and participate in architecture governance for material production changes and platform decisions, enforcing consistent risk assessment and rollback planning across infrastructure, application, and ERP changes.
- Bring sufficient engineering depth to challenge technical teams and partners while remaining primarily accountable for operational execution.
Organization, Budget & Technology Roadmap- Build and lead a high-performing IT operations organization with clear accountability, succession coverage, and development plans for critical roles.
- Identify skill gaps created by the modernization roadmap (cloud, DevSecOps, ERP) and drive reskilling and upskilling plans for existing staff rather than defaulting to replacement hiring.
- Own the annual IT operating and capital budget, technology cost baseline, forecasts, and savings initiatives.
- Own and execute the multi-year IT operations and infrastructure modernization roadmap, translating investments into business outcomes, risk reduction, and ROI.
- Establish a management cadence with the CDTO and business stakeholders, with clear KPIs, risks, decisions, and delivery status.
- Support acquisitions, integrations, separations, and other major business changes with disciplined technology planning and execution.
- Exemplify the company's core values and behaviors.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking ForExperience & Qualifications- Proven senior leadership experience running IT operations in a complex, distributed, high-availability environment; experience with aviation, maritime, telecom, media/content delivery, or other mission-critical network environments is a plus.
- Deep operational knowledge of enterprise networking, infrastructure, cloud/AWS, monitoring, resiliency, capacity management, and disaster recovery.
- Strong cybersecurity leadership, including incident response, vulnerability, identity/access and network security, and experience with frameworks or attestations such as Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, NIST, and SOC 2, including SOC 2 audit cycles.
- Demonstrated success managing MSPs, vendors, ITSM/service delivery, SLAs/SLOs, and technology budgets and cost optimization.
- Experience owning enterprise applications and ERP platforms, including integrations, lifecycle management, data/access controls, and implementation partners.
- Technical depth in DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, and application operations sufficient to partner credibly with product and software engineering leaders.
- Track record building teams, simplifying complex environments, and delivering modernization while maintaining reliable operations.
- Relevant technical certifications such as AWS, ITIL, CISSP, or equivalent are preferred.
Skills & Competencies- Pragmatic operator who creates structure, accountability, and follow-through.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to translate technical choices into service, risk, cost, and ROI.
- Clear communicator who works effectively with senior leadership, business partners, technical teams, and external providers.
- Hands-on enough to go deep during incidents and architecture decisions while leading through capable teams and partners.
- Collaborative, low-ego leader who develops and reskills talent and operates effectively across a global, matrixed organization.
