VP / Director of Technology

Platform, Data & AI

CRM SOLUTIONS DIVISION - A TPM COMPANY

LEVEL

Director / VP

REPORTS TO

Chief Product Officer

LOCATION

Fully remote (U.S.)

FUNCTION

Architecture & Delivery

About the role

CRM Solutions is the combination of Hunley, a boutique Salesforce implementation partner, and TrebleHook, a Salesforce OEM / ISV platform. The combined entity serves the construction and manufacturing industries with custom and value-added solutions and services. We operate fully remotely, and are repositioning around outcomes-based, AI-accelerated delivery and solutions.

We are hiring a senior technical leader to serve as the firm's top architecture authority across both our services practice and our product. This person owns the technical foundation - data, AI, and integration - and the senior judgment that holds up in front of a client's technology leadership. This is a hands-on, billable leadership role, not a pure-management seat. You will set the standard for how we architect solutions, then prove it in real engagements.

This role reports to the Chief Product Officer and works in close partnership with the Director of AI Applications. The CPO sets vision and product direction; the Director of AI Applications owns what we build with AI for clients and product; you own how it is built and whether it holds up technically.

What you'll own
  • Architectural authority. Render credible, vendor-neutral "right tool for the job" recommendations across data, AI, and integration - and defend them in conversations ranging from a client CIO to a director-level IT lead.
  • Solution integrity. Provide deep technical support for the architecture of both client services engagements and TrebleHook product features, ensuring designs are sound, scalable, and maintainable.
  • Practice standards. Establish tooling standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns that make our delivery repeatable and AI-accelerated.
  • Technical mentorship. Guide and develop the integration practice lead and junior architects; raise the technical bar across the team.
  • Pre-sales credibility. Partner with sales (including our CEO) on scoping, estimation, and technical storytelling that wins work and sets engagements up to succeed.

Core technical domains

You will be assessed on genuine depth across three domains. We expect a center of gravity in data architecture - the connective tissue of an AI-era solution - with strong, demonstrated command of AI and integration.
  1. Data & Integration

All things data and how it moves between systems. You understand how data lakes, warehouses, lakehouses, RAG, and zero-copy/virtualization fit together - and when each is the wrong choice. You bring equal depth in integrating enterprise systems, standardizing integration practice, and selecting the right approach for a given problem.

Must have

Strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ownership of data architecture on real, messy enterprise programs
  • Working command of Salesforce Data 360 (Data Cloud), plus Snowflake and/or Databricks
  • Clear grasp of warehouse vs. lake vs. lakehouse, and of zero-copy / data federation tradeoffs
  • Sound judgment on data modeling, governance, and when RAG vs. fine-tuning vs. structured retrieval applies
  • Years of experience integrating enterprise systems across multiple platforms
  • Practical depth in at least two of: MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure/Microsoft Fabric, Workato
  • Strong direct-API integration skills (REST/SOAP, auth, error handling, throughput)
  • Hands-on with custom SQL databases and modern ELT patterns
  • Experience grounding AI/agent solutions in governed enterprise data
  • Familiarity with CDC patterns and event-driven data flows
  • Exposure to data quality and MDM in mid-market settings
  • Background building productized / reusable connectors
  • Salesforce integration patterns (Platform Events, CDC, MuleSoft Composer)
  • Comfort estimating and scoping custom integration work
  1. AI technologies

A real strategic and technical grasp of the AI landscape - enough to make credible build/buy/ground decisions, not just demo familiarity.

Must have

Strongly preferred
  • Genuine understanding of Salesforce Agentforce capabilities and limits
  • Working knowledge of leading foundation models (e.g., Claude, GPT) and how to choose between them
  • Clear view of agent design, tool/function calling, MCP, and retrieval grounding
  • Ability to translate AI capability into sound, deliverable architecture
  • Experience deploying AI in regulated or data-sensitive environments
  • Familiarity with the Anthropic / Claude platform and MCP connectors
  • Prompt and context engineering for production workflows
  • Awareness of AI evaluation, guardrails, and cost/latency tradeoffs
  1. Salesforce Ecosystem

This is a Salesforce-native firm. You don't need to be a developer, but you need to understand how Salesforce is architected, how our clients use it, and how data, AI, and integrations connect to and through it. We would not hire someone who doesn't know Salesforce.

Must have

Strongly preferred
  • Direct experience architecting on or around the Salesforce platform
  • Understanding of core Salesforce data model, sharing model, and governor limits
  • Familiarity with Salesforce's AI and data products (Agentforce, Data Cloud)
  • Salesforce certifications (Architect track preferred)
  • Experience with TrebleHook or similar Salesforce ISV/OEM products
  • Experience supporting Salesforce-centric pre-sales and scoping

The profile we're looking for
  • A data/integration architect who has been pulled up into AI infrastructure - not an integration specialist who later dabbled in data, nor an AI generalist who has never owned a messy SI delivery.
  • Industry experience in AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) or Manufacturing - the two verticals we serve. The ideal candidate knows how these businesses buy, operate, and think about technology. We are looking for a unicorn: someone who brings both the technical depth and the industry context to credibly advise clients who know their world better than most vendors ever will.
  • The gravitas to hold a room with a client CIO and the patience to earn the trust of a director-level IT lead.
  • Vendor-neutral judgment: able to recommend the right tool, change their mind under good counter-pressure, and never get defensive doing it.
  • Hands-on and billable - still close enough to real solutions to survive a technical objection from a client's lead engineer.
  • Comfortable in a small, fast-moving firm where leverage comes from juniors, a practice lead, and the partner ecosystem rather than a large team.

Qualifications
  • Experience. 10+ years in enterprise solution architecture, data engineering/architecture, or integration architecture, including senior client-facing and team-leadership exposure.
  • Salesforce context. Direct experience architecting on or around the Salesforce platform is strongly preferred given our practice and TrebleHook.
  • Communication. Exceptional ability to explain technical tradeoffs to both executive and hands-on technical audiences.
  • Remote effectiveness. Proven success operating in a fully distributed team and contributing to an engaged, energizing remote culture.
  • Credentials. Relevant certifications are valued but secondary to demonstrated architectural judgment.

What success looks like in the first year

Reference architectures and tooling standards exist for our most common data, AI, and integration patterns - and the team uses them. Our "right tool for the job" recommendations are consistent, defensible, and trusted by clients. The integration practice lead and junior architects are measurably more capable under your mentorship.AI-accelerated delivery is real and repeatable, not bespoke heroics on every engagement.

How to apply

Send a brief note on a complex architecture decision you owned - what you recommended, what you traded off, and what you'd decide differently today - along with your background. We care more about how you reason than about a polished résumé.

We offer competitive compensation and a solid benefits package - and we promise, you'll never be bored.

Note: This role is for direct applicants only. No recruiters or agencies, please.
