Full Job Description
We're hiring an FVP, Bank Controller for a large public bank in San Diego.
This is a key leadership opportunity to partner directly with the Corporate Controller/Chief Accounting Officer, lead accounting operations, and strengthen processes and controls to support continued growth.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and coordinate external audits and reviews.
• Partner with SEC reporting leadership to ensure accurate, complete financial statements, 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and regulatory filings.
• Improve close efficiency through process enhancements, technology, and offshore resources.
• Lead and scale the bank's SOX compliance program, including audit coordination, testing, and documentation.
• Develop and mentor the accounting team.
• Prepare clear reporting and communications for senior management, the Board, auditors, and regulators.
What we're looking for:
• Banking experience required, preferably within a public company.
• 10+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience managing large teams and developing accounting talent.
• Public company reporting and SEC filings experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
An active CPA and Oracle experience are a plus.
