Responsibilities

Summary

This position provides administrative oversight of construction within the design and construction services department. Plans and manages the construction administration functions of GEO and GEO Care. Provides input on the development of architectural plans, specifications, and written submittals as required with department staff, consultants and various contractors. Ensures all construction document deliverables and project construction is completed within necessary timelines, within set budgets, and contract requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees the construction of all projects of GEO and GEO Care.
  • Prepares project budgets, schedules, and provide overall guidance on objectives and concepts.
  • Participates in the development of design objectives and concepts with department staff, consultants and various departments.
  • Develops and manages the refinement of construction controls and company standard construction contracts.
  • Maintains effective communications and coordination between company departments, and consultants to ensure timeliness and accuracy of project design, specifications and submittals.
  • Supervises and evaluates work of subordinate division staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction, or related field and ten (10) years of progressive work experience required. A combination of educational and work experience may be taken into consideration at management's discretion.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently on projects, knowledge of how projects are completed, and the ability to ensure that projects stay within necessary budgets and timeframes.
  • Demonstrated department/office management responsibility.
  • Ability to utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to perform a variety of complex tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on several projects at the same time with ever changing deadlines.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software (AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Project) typically used by the department.
