VP Comms Strategy Director

Reporting into: Chief Strategy Officer

Location: New York, NY

Your Role:

We're looking for an SVP Communications Strategy Director to join the McCann team. This person would be a key member of the strategy team, helping to get ahead of the current need (and client expectations) for increasingly expansive ideas that take advantage of a wide array of potential channels and formats and drive ROI in the face of budget pressures. The person fulfilling this role would be both inspiring our teams towards great creative campaigns, as well as helping justify the investment in those. It's key that this person has a keen understanding of modern-day media/channel landscape and ways to best take advantage of the opportunities they present (SOCIAL IS KEY), as well as mapping those opportunities out in compelling ways. They should be able to work fluidly with brand, data, social & creatives to design modern comms thinking. We are looking for someone who is fluid in frameworks but comfortable thinking beyond too.

What You Do:
  • Develop and help execute comprehensive communications plans for the client. This means creating and managing the implementation of detailed communication plans outlining key messages, tactics, timelines, and budgets across different channels (digital, social, tv, print and all other media channels).


  • Develop strategic deliverables such as consumer journey maps, campaign ecosystem frameworks, engagement plans etc.


  • Analyze audience and channel insights to help inform focus areas for creative and to help inform targeted and relevant messaging across channels (digital, social, traditional media etc.).


  • Conduct market research and be on top of best-in-class comms architecture plans and best practices.


  • Work in tandem with brand strategy to ensure client goals are met and creative opportunities are ignited


  • Work in tandem with creative teams to manifest ideas towards effective campaigns and help inform the creation of key campaign elements.


  • Identify best ways to monitor and measure performance and adjust to optimize results. Track campaign metrics (reach, engagement, conversion etc.) using analytics tools. Identify and present data-driven insights to clients to demonstrate campaign success.


  • Engage and manage relationships with other IAT agencies (media, PR etc.) to ensure all of the above.

Location:

McCann New York team members must reside in or be willing to relocate to the New York Tristate area unless otherwise agreed upon by their manager and McCann New York's Human Resources team. McCann New York is a hybrid workplace with three days in-office per week.

Omnicom's policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager. Our objective is to increase this requirement over time, and many of our agencies as well as Omnicom's corporate group already require five days of in-office attendance.
