Full Job Description
Vice President, Client Solutions and Design is a senior leader responsible for the strategy, execution, and operational excellence of Valeris' Design & Implementation programs. This role ensures every client solution is designed for scalability, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, profitability, and an exceptional stakeholder experience from contract award through operational handoff. This successful leader is a strategist who understands that great design within a patient support program begins with understanding business outcomes that our manufacturer customers want to achieve for each of their programs. This individual can move seamlessly between executive strategy discussions, client-facing design workshops, review of operational documents, and coaching/mentoring a high-performing team. Additionally, this leader builds trusted relationships across clients while supporting the acceleration of organizational growth, enables innovation, and delivers measurable business value. This role is part of the Commercial Operations team and bridges the gap between business development and operations.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Design & Implementation (or equivalent), the Vice President, Client Solutions and Design serves as the senior bridge between Commercial, Product, Technology, Patient Support Operations, Client Services, and Executive Leadership to deliver innovative, repeatable, and efficient patient support solutions. This people leader establishes the tactical long-term vision, operating model, governance, and program capabilities that enable the consistent, high-quality implementation of all Valeris products and services while collecting best practices and lessons learned to drive standardization and consistency across the enterprise.

As a member of the Commercial Operations Leadership Team, the Vice President, Client Solutions and Design contributes to enterprise planning, investment decisions, organizational priorities, and corporate strategy based on the collection of client feedback and the monitoring of market dynamics & shifts. This role not only executes on implementations but also shapes organizational capabilities and drives business performance. The role is responsible for supporting the definition of the strategic vision, operating model, governance, and execution framework for all Design & Implementation services across Valeris. This leader ensures the organization delivers scalable, profitable, technology-enabled patient support solutions that accelerate commercialization for pharmaceutical manufacturers while advancing Valeris' enterprise growth strategy.

The Vice President, Client Solutions and Design is responsible for transforming implementation from a project execution function into a competitive market differentiator.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, develop and lead a team of patient support Designers responsible for architecting patient support services programs.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team by establishing performance expectations and monitoring achievement of expectations & goals.
  • Define career paths, competencies, and professional development plans for direct reports.
  • Conduct performance management and succession planning.
  • Manage team capacity.
  • Meet regularly with direct reports and conduct team meetings on a regular cadence.

Strategy Development
  • Oversee all assigned client implementation activities from contract execution through operational transition, including solution architecture and executive guidance for strategic accounts and new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute the vision, strategy and operating model for patient support programs.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of standard processes, governance, design principles and collection of best practices & lessons learned.
  • Partner with leadership to align patient support business strategies with business objectives of our customers.
  • Ensure that the Design & Implementation team is viewed as a Center of Excellence both internally and with our customers.
  • Balance client needs, operational feasibility, and profitability to create sustainable business solutions.
  • Provide executive consultation to clients on implementation strategy, launch readiness, and operational best practices, and lead executive discussions during complex implementations and escalations.


Client & Business Development Support
  • Partner with Commercial Team during the business development process to attend client face-to-face meetings and teleconferences.
  • Support enterprise growth by bridging the gap between business development and operations.
  • Serve as a senior leader of the Design & Implementation Team during client meetings, strategy & design sessions, and bid defense presentations.
  • Support the RFP/RFI process by developing written responses to questions, recommending solutions, developing implementation approaches & timelines and predicting resource allocations for client budgets based on scope of services.
  • Build trusted executive relationships with clients while ensuring exceptional implementation experiences.
  • Influence senior executives, clients, and cross-functional leaders through credibility, communication, partnership and decisive leadership.


Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Project Management, Information Technology, Product Management and other internal workstream leaders to develop integrated patient support program solutions.
  • Ensure operational readiness for programs prior to launch or transition through the execution of end-to-end testing.
  • Facilitate architecture alignment across multiple technology teams (CRM, Portals, Websites, Text Messaging, etc.).
  • Monitor risks and dependencies and create a risk mitigation plan for each item once identified.


Governance & Quality
  • Follow the established weekly governance process for internal and external reporting.
  • Establish new design standards, implementation playbooks, governance models, templates, and reusable assets that balance patient experience, client objectives, operational scalability, regulatory compliance, technology capabilities, and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, regulatory, and enterprise standards.
  • Ensure all processes and documentation standards are followed with consistency and ensure all program design artifacts are completed on time and signed off on by all key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in process by using data, governance, standardization, and other principles.
  • Support organizational transformations and new service expansion by serving as a transformation champion for assigned initiatives.


Other
  • Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned by SVP, Design & Implementation.
  • Represent Valeris at industry conferences, advisory boards, executive forums and customer events.
  • Monitor emerging commercialization trends and translate market intelligence into program or enterprise strategies.
  • Support the development of the annual budgeting process for the department.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within healthcare, specialty pharmacy, pharmaceutical commercialization, patient services, reimbursement support, or related industries.
  • Minimum of 10 years leading large cross-functional implementations or a patient support operations organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of patient support services, HUB operations, reimbursement support, copay administration, specialty pharmacy, and commercialization services.
  • Proven experience building scalable operational organizations and managing enterprise portfolios and organizational budgets within patient support services.
  • Expertise in leadership, patient support design, and operational transformation, with demonstrated success leading large-scale strategic initiatives.
  • Strong commercial, financial and business acumen.
  • Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence executive stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.
  • Attend industry conferences and other events as necessary.
