What you will do
This is a virtual position supporting JCI6 service branches6 on large,6 complex, commissioning6 projects for data centers or complex chiller plants.66Performs high level analysis and engineering6 review6 on more complex6 technical commissioning projects. Provides6 on-site6 technical support for field teams on commissioning6 execution and service delivery of RTU and Chiller equipment.6
How you will do it
Provides application, engineering, & commissioning assistance for Data Center and large projects to ensure they meet objectives, schedules and budgets.6
Establishes engineering, control, & commissioning procedures on a6 job-by-job6 basis to ensure timely completion and appropriate cost control.6
Reviews6 sequence of operation developed by customers design team or consultants to ensure proper equipment application / control panel programming for L1 thru L5 commissioning purposes.6
Leads or participates in sales to service turnover meetings for scope clarity, personnel requirements, & contractor responsibilities.6
Provides6 on-site6 technical and training support to field personnel for L1 thru L5 commissioning of Chillers / DX Systems / AHU / Controls for data center application.6
Provides training to End Users, Mechanical Contractors and JCI Technicians6 on the operation of6 RTU equipment and6 systems.6
Assists in the recommendation, development, and implementation of electronic enhancements and engineering changes to create new & enhanced product offerings that will improve product performance and lower costs to strengthen sales opportunities.6
Prepares or assists in preparing proposals and other customer communication documents.6
Ensures timely and accurate completion of engineering reports (e.g.6 as-builts) for the engineering staff, manufacturing plants, and customers for projects.6
Maintains effective working relationships and communications with marketing, service, sales and manufacturing to ensure that products meet customers6 requirements.6
Has a high degree of technical competence in specific functional areas6 including RTU equipment/controls, Chiller equipment/controls, and BAS functionality and how to interact successfully with JCI equipment.6
Reviews detailed mechanical and electrical drawings specific to each project.6
Assists in locating and expedition of engineered components.6
Assists Project Management Group in developing and producing project manuals for use in project management.6
Familiarity with JCI warranty systems and how they apply to multiple systems within the data center infrastructure.6 Work in conjunction with the JCI branch and Mechanical Contractors to assure streamline approval for warranty issues/repairs.6
Report to JCI Product Technical Support, Engineering, and the Factory Quality team any issues related to equipment quality or recommended6 enhancements(innovation) to the equipment.6
Other Duties:6
Uses standard JCI development processes and tools in performing tasks.6
Responsible for remaining current with relevant engineering or design standards and practices.6
May provide post-contract design review support.6
Actively participates in relevant professional organizations.
Responsible for the promotion and adherence of JCI safety policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What we look for
Required
Bachelor6s degree in engineering,6 Engineering Technology,6 or a related field as appropriate.6
In lieu of degree, there is a minimum of 10 experience.
Ten6 years6 of6 experience in engineering / commissioning chillers / DX equipment, AHU6 & electronic controls related products.6
Ten6 years of experience in Chilled Water Systems or Operational Processes.6
Experience with Central Utility Chilled Water Systems is preferred6
Member of6 ASHRAE, IDEA and function- specific licenses or certifications preferred.6
Possess strong analytical capabilities and ability to manage tasks associated with development of projects.6
Fully competent in analysis and assessment of mechanical and electronic systems. Effectively leading in team settings.6
Good written and verbal communication skills and is comfortable working in customer-facing situations.6
Solid computer skills, including an understanding of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio6 and MS Project.6
Ability to Travel approximately 50%.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $116,000 - $150,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience,6 knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market6 data.)
