Position OverviewBBVA is seeking an experienced Vice President to join its US Private Placement team. The successful candidate will play a central role in originating, structuring and executing USPP transactions for corporate and project finance clients, working across industries and global jurisdictions. The position requires strong technical credit skills, disciplined transaction management and the ability to coordinate seamlessly with relationship bankers, capital markets professionals, legal counsel, operations teams, investors and clients.
The role is intended for an execution professional with recent, directly relevant USPP transaction experience, including activity involving data centers, commercial real estate and project finance. The candidate must be comfortable moving from detailed financial analysis and documentation to senior level client and investor dialogue, while maintaining high standards of accuracy, judgment and execution discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the end to end execution of US Private Placement transactions, from initial opportunity assessment and mandate through structuring, investor engagement, due diligence, documentation, closing and post closing coordination.
- Partner closely with BBVA relationship bankers and sector teams to identify financing opportunities, develop transaction strategies and position USPP solutions within broader client coverage plans.
- Prepare and review detailed credit analysis, financial models, debt capacity assessments, cash flow forecasts, covenant analyses and downside/sensitivity cases for corporate and project finance transactions.
- Develop financing structures that appropriately reflect borrower objectives, investor requirements, credit considerations, tenor, amortization, covenant packages, security and other transaction specific features.
- Create high quality client and investor materials, including pitch books, market updates, financing alternatives, transaction summaries, information memoranda, management presentation materials and internal approval documentation.
- Coordinate execution across internal stakeholders, including Capital Markets, Relationship Management, Credit/Risk, Legal, Compliance and Operations, ensuring clear ownership, timely escalation and disciplined follow through.
- Manage external workstreams with clients, investors, external counsel, technical advisers, rating agencies and other transaction parties, as applicable.
- Maintain active dialogue with institutional investors in the USPP market and contribute to investor targeting, market intelligence, feedback collection and distribution strategy.
- Provide current market perspectives on pricing, structures, investor appetite, sector trends and comparable transactions to internal teams and clients.
- Ensure transaction processes are executed in accordance with applicable BBVA policies, regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
- Support senior team members in business development and client coverage while independently managing substantial portions of live transactions and selected client/investor interactions.
- Contribute to the development of junior team members through modeling review, transaction guidance, quality control and knowledge sharing.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience at a major banking institution, institutional capital markets platform or comparable financial institution.
- Demonstrated execution experience in both corporate finance and project finance transactions, with direct exposure to the US Private Placement market.
- Recent transaction and execution experience involving data centers, commercial real estate and project finance USPP activity.
- Strong background in credit analysis, including assessment of business risk, financial risk, leverage, liquidity, debt service capacity, covenant protection and structural considerations.
- Advanced financial modeling capabilities, including integrated financial statements, cash flow forecasting, debt sizing, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis and transaction specific project finance models.
- Established relationships and multiple contacts across the institutional investor universe, with an understanding of investor preferences, decision processes and documentation expectations.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating key financing terms and working with legal counsel on transaction documentation and closing processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financing concepts clearly to senior internal stakeholders, clients and investors across multiple countries and industries.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams under tight deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and execution quality.
- Current FINRA Series 7, Series 63 and Series 79 licenses.
Technical and Execution Capabilities
Credit & Underwriting
Ability to independently assess credit quality, identify key risks and mitigants, evaluate capital structures and translate analysis into clear financing recommendations.
Financial Modeling
High proficiency in Excel based modeling, including complex debt schedules, cash flow waterfalls, sensitivities and project finance analytics.
USPP Execution
Working knowledge of the USPP transaction lifecycle, investor process, term negotiation, due diligence, documentation and closing mechanics.
Sector Relevance
Recent familiarity with financing considerations applicable to data centers, commercial real estate and infrastructure/project finance assets.
Materials & Productivity
High proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel, as well as Google Workspace products, with strong standards for presentation quality and analytical accuracy.

- Act as a trusted execution partner to relationship bankers and senior capital markets professionals, bringing sound judgment, responsiveness and accountability to client situations.
- Build credibility with clients and investors through well supported analysis, command of transaction details and clear, concise communication.

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $180,000 to $240,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
