OVERVIEW

The Vice President, Performance Analytics will serve as a senior analytical resource responsible for developing sophisticated performance analyses and reporting solutions that support the firm's fundraising, investor communications, and strategic initiatives across all private markets strategies. This role focuses on solving complex reporting, designing scalable analytical capabilities, and helping shape how investment performance is represented to clients of Adams Street Partners.

Working closely with Investment Teams, Investor Relations, Marketing, Technology, Compliance, Finance, and other business partners, this individual will translate evolving investor needs into consistent, scalable reporting methodologies and analytical solutions. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys solving complex analytical problems, improving reporting capabilities, and driving continuous innovation through technology, automation, and AI.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead sophisticated performance analyses supporting RFPs, RFIs, DDQs, consultant requests, fundraising initiatives, and bespoke investor inquiries.
  • Develop custom performance presentations, track records, portfolio analyses, benchmark comparisons, and other complex analytical deliverables.
  • Translate ambiguous investor requests into meaningful analyses that align with firm methodologies and reporting standards.
  • Serve as a resource to internal stakeholders on performance presentation and reporting considerations across strategies and fund structures.
  • Design new reporting capabilities or processes that improve the firm's ability to address evolving investor reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Investments, Compliance/Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Investor Relations to evaluate and refine reporting methodologies and performance presentation approaches.
  • Contribute to the development of firmwide reporting standards, analytical frameworks, and documentation supporting consistent performance reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to convert bespoke analyses into scalable reporting solutions and may include recommending improvements to reporting processes, data quality, and analytical infrastructure.
  • Support and partner with Technology and Data teams to define business requirements and ensure successful rollout of new reporting capabilities, data enhancements, and analytical tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to colleagues on complex reporting questions and analytical approaches.
  • Perform strategic ad hoc projects as assigned.
  • Demonstrate willingness and interest to continually expand one's knowledge of the various fund structures, investment strategies and the investment process, as well as the private markets industry as a whole.


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

An eye for detail, including solid review and proofreading skills, is critical. The ideal experience and competencies for this role include the following:

  • Graduated from an accredited undergraduate university, with an analytically oriented degree, such as Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field, with proven academic success.
  • 7+ years of experience in private markets performance analytics, investment reporting, portfolio analytics, product strategy, investor reporting, or a related function within private equity and private credit, or alternative investments.
  • Strong understanding of private markets performance measurement, including IRR, TVPI, DPI, RVPI, MOIC, benchmark methodologies, and performance attribution concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex investment data into clear, investor-focused analyses and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify recurring analytical challenges and develop scalable reporting solutions that improve efficiency and consistency across an organization.
  • Proven track record successfully managing multiple projects from inception to completion. Advanced Excel skills required; familiarity with business intelligence tools, reporting platforms, or investment performance systems (e.g., Burgiss/MSCI, PitchBook, Power BI, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong verbal and written skills with ability to communicate complex ideas and information effectively across a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated interest or progress towards CFA, CIPM, or CAIA designations is advantageous.
  • CFA, CIPM, or CAIA designation (or progress toward one)
