The Department of Radiation Oncology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston is actively seeking full-time Radiation Oncology faculty members with expertise in their selected disease site subspecialty to serve as the Vice Chair of Technology and Innovation.
As Vice Chair of Technology and Innovation, this individual will provide strategic leadership for the advancement and integration of emerging technologies across the Department of Radiation Oncology. The Vice Chair will oversee the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new imaging and treatment delivery platforms, including particle therapy capabilities, ensuring thoughtful adoption that enhances clinical quality, safety, and patient outcomes. Serving as the department’s primary liaison to industry partners, the Vice Chair will guide technology assessment, vendor engagement, and innovation strategy while aligning investments with institutional priorities. In close collaboration with physics and research leadership, they will foster translational and clinical research initiatives, coordinate technical validation and implementation efforts, and promote a culture of continuous innovation across clinical and academic missions.
Responsibilities will include clinical care with a focus on their selected disease site subspecialty in radiation oncology, teaching and research activity at the Main Campus in Boston as appropriate with an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor to be determined based on experience and qualifications. This role is an employment model position in Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Following regulatory approval, successful candidates will also provide clinical care at DFCI.

Pay Range:
$470,000 - $537,500The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations. In addition to base compensation, this role may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include bonuses for productivity and quality HMFP also offers a comprehensive and generous employee benefits program to eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as retirement plan(s) with employer contributions.
