BluePearl is hiring a Veterinary Technician Supervisor for our Surgery Department at our Tukwila, WA hospital! Veterinary Technician Supervisor Pay: $30.22 - $47.30 / hour
This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system.
We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.
For example:
- Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
- Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential
- Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential
*Must be able to work weekends and dayshift with a possible occasional swing shift as determined.
Preferred candidate profile is someone who has 4+ years of experience as an LVT and ideally some leadership experience. This role will be 80% tech duties, 20% administrative/leadership work. Veterinary Technician Supervisor Responsibilities:- Demonstrates advanced proficiency within their appropriate department and maintains all related skills and knowledge.
- Technician supervisor will have 75% of time spent on the floor.
- Creates effective working relationships with hospital leadership to facilitate communication of ideas, policies, standards and performance.
- Coaches supervised group for strong performance and productivity in the delivery of medical services to patients.
- Serves as a mentor to lower-level staff by demonstrating positive work habits, effective clinical skills and business knowledge.
- Facilitates an environment of ongoing communication and feedback.
- Implements process improvement initiatives that remove barriers to excellent service.
- Coaches team members to be continuously aware and proactive at anticipating and addressing patient and client needs and to seek assistance with escalated, stressful situations.
- Works with hospital leadership to organize Veterinary Technician and Assistant meetings.
- Works with the Trainer Coordinator to organize training schedules for team members.
- Identifies conflicts in the workplace and seeks assistance in resolution in order to create effective working relationships.
- Provides feedback related to team performance to hospital leadership and works with them to develop performance improvement plans.
- May work with hospital leadership to create schedule for Veterinary Technicians and Assistants.
- May assist hospital leadership in recruiting
- Performs annual review of team members
