Description

RK is looking for a VDC Project Manager to lead coordination efforts on complex construction projects. If you have experience with BIM, love problem-solving, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is your opportunity to lead innovation in the field.

Position Summary

Work closely with Preconstruction Team, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Field and Manufacturing team to obtain required information needed to start the project efficiently. Mentor and train members of the staff on trade-specific means and methods. Mentor and train members of the staff on these best practices to ensure consistent application. This individual is to be a leader in the enhancement of process and materials selection.

Role Responsibilities

  • Firm understanding of drafting and design techniques and are able to convey all information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Familiarization with project plans, specs, submittals, etc.
  • Monitor and lead the coordination process for one or multiple jobs.
  • Layout trade systems in 3D while leading depending on project size and schedule.
  • Work closely with Project Manages, Project Engineers, and field team to obtain required information needed to start the project efficiently.
  • Generate and track RFI's for designers and issue to Project Management team designated at project turnover.
  • Quality control reviews and corrections of VDC/BIM Drawings; compliance with contract documents; look for common sense routing of systems to save fittings; assure each trade resource places their own hangers on systems as they draw to confirm each system can be hung without conflict and to confirm spacing of systems is adequate for the hangers.
  • Lead Coordination Meetings utilizing NAVISWORKS and coordinate with VDC staff and other Sub-Contractors participating in the 3D coordination.
  • Set up Collision sets in Mast NAVISWORKS file and lead designers through Collision Resolution Daily.
  • Ensure Coordinators meet the schedule and monitor other trades for compliancy to coordination schedule and notify the Project Manager of any delays.
  • Communicate in advance to VDC management any need for additional staff or overtime required to maintain the project schedule.
  • Manage all aspects of the CPMI plan and notify the Project Manager and Superintendent of any variations from this plan.
  • Quality control review of fabrication drawings prior to delivering to shop.
  • Document lineal feet totals of each trade's progress weekly utilizing a spreadsheet format and turn in to the executive staff on Monday mornings.
  • Document systems that need to be redrawn due to changes in project scope and/or systems needing rerouted due to space constraints.'

  • Requires the use of advanced techniques and knowledge within his/her function.
  • Applies diversified knowledge of applicable principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments.
  • Makes decisions independently regarding complexities and methods.
  • Supervision and guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts and policy matters.
  • Liaison to groups within and outside of his/her organization with responsibility to act independently regarding matters pertaining to his/her function.
  • College/University graduate with 7 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally expected for specified technical roles.
