Job Overview

The VDC Engineer, SAT supports digital delivery for Skanska Advanced Technology projects, including mission critical, data center, semiconductor and other high-tech facilities. Working across project phases and as needed, across offices, the role applies standardized VDC software and processes to model coordination, field planning, reality capture, quality verification and turnover. The VDC Engineer collaborates with project teams, trade partners, shared VDC resources and the National VDC organization to deliver consistent, reliable outputs and to share knowledge across the Advanced Technology portfolio. The VDC Engineer partners with multi-disciplinary site teams to translate model data into actionable information, troubleshoot clashes and constructability issues, and coach team members on BIM workflows. The position requires a proactive, flexible, “can-do” approach.

VDC Engineer Required Qualifications:

      • 3+ years of experience working in a BIM or VDC-related role
      • 1+ years working in the process of asset tracking
      • 1+ year working in Autodesk packages (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, Forma, etc.) and other platforms such as Procore
      • Working knowledge of model authoring, coordination, and collaboration platforms used for construction delivery
      • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical project information
      • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or a related field or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 3 years prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering VDC in mission critical, data center, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing or similarly complex technical projects.
  • General knowledge of industry terminology.
  • Knowledge of reality capture methods, including 360-degree cameras, laser scanning and drone capture.
  • Strong communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills across geographically distributed teams.
  • Knowledge of basic management and data reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or equivalents.
