POSITION: Variable Marketing Finance ManagerLOCATION: Mahwah, NJRECRUITMENT RANGE: $107,500-$150,000Reporting to the Finance Director, Controlling, the Variable Marketing Finance Manager is responsible for leading the financial planning, analysis, and governance of vehicle incentive programs. This role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Planning, and Financial Services to develop competitive incentive strategies, optimize marketing spend, provide actionable business insights, and ensure financial targets are achieved while maintaining strong controls and compliance.
What you will be doing:- Leading the development and execution of quarterly vehicle incentive programs to support sales, profitability, and market share objectives.
- Managing the variable marketing expense budget, including forecasting, monitoring, and optimizing spend.
- Analyzing competitor incentive activity, market trends, and customer behavior to inform pricing and promotional strategies.
- Providing financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Partnering with Sales, Product Planning, and Financial Services to align incentive programs with inventory, demand forecasts, and product lifecycle needs.
- Overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting, costing, and performance reporting for variable marketing activities.
- Managing program approvals, launch reviews, payment validation, and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Leading monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
- Conducting reserve adequacy reviews, identifying financial risks, and partnering with stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Mentoring and developing finance team members while driving continuous improvement in reporting and financial processes.
What you will need:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive management experience in finance, financial planning & analysis, accounting, or related disciplines.
- Strong financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and variance reporting experience.
- Experience managing or supporting incentive, pricing, marketing, or commercial finance programs.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling capabilities.
- Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Automotive industry experience and knowledge of vehicle incentives, subvention, or residual value analysis preferred.
Schedule: Hybrid Ways of Working (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - office days; Wednesday and Friday - choice days)
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized components, including location, skills, experience, and market factors. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus in addition to a full range of medical/health, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick/personal, and parental leave).
