V - EPC Field P6 Scheduler

Position Summary
As a variable EPC Field P6 Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining detailed project schedules using Primavera P6. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely and efficient execution of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities. Your expertise in scheduling, resource allocation, and critical path analysis will be essential to the successful delivery of complex projects.

This is a W-2 position with full-time hours (typically around 40 hours per week), but it is project-based and not a permanent role. Hours may vary depending on project needs, and the position does not include benefits.

Location: Field/Houston Campus - This role requires regular presence at job sites, including outdoor environments and construction zones. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

Travel: Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time or more, depending on project needs.

Essential Job Functions
  • Support a wide range of EPC projects (small to large scale).
  • Develop Level 1-5 schedules with milestones, resource loading, and critical path analysis.
  • Monitor and resolve scheduling conflicts, delays, and variances from the baseline.
  • Evaluate and report schedule deviations; support change management processes.
  • Analyze and communicate schedule trends and progress through visual reports and dashboards.
  • Provide weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reporting cycles; interface with client representatives as needed.
  • Lead progress and performance measurement using Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Prepare and present planning reports for internal and client review.
  • Hold project teams accountable for schedule commitments and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain EPC phase schedules (engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning).
  • Proactively communicate schedule risks and variances to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to change management protocols and quantify schedule impacts.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and clients to clarify planning requirements and reporting needs.
  • Align project forecasts (EAC) with the Project Controls Manager.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of planning procedures and best practices.
  • Validate contractor schedules to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Assist in developing detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Identify and forecast equipment and material delivery timelines.
  • Implement advanced change management practices to ensure project schedule integrity.
  • Generate automated reporting dashboards to visualize project progress and performance.


Qualifications
  • Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6, including resource/cost loading, re-baselining, and CPM.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel , with strong skills in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Mid-level in and Power BI to initiate reporting and database.
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive experience on EPC/EPCM projects in the energy or industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and specifications.
  • Experience with field-based scheduling and Critical Path Method (CPM).
  • Willingness and ability to travel or relocate to project sites as needed.
  • Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.


Desired Qualifications
  • 2+ years of direct EPC planning and scheduling experience, including change order management.
  • PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) certification is a plus.
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field-or equivalent experience.
