Position Description: The ideal candidate for this position is a User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Expert. As a UI/UX Expert, you will use your knowledge, skills, and abilities to analyze, design, and transform an application to meet the client's current and future needs. The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships within a large team of both colleagues and clients. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a team environment supporting an important government client. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side by side in an Agile environment using emerging technologies.
This position is located in Arlington, VA.
Your future duties and responsibilities:• Lead the end to end design process, from discovery to delivery, ensuring all solutions meet user needs and business goals.
• Develop and communicate compelling design strategies, incorporating HCD methodologies to inform decision making.
• Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including user interviews, usability testing, workshops, and surveys.
• Analyze research findings to derive actionable insights, creating user personas, journey maps, and service blueprints.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and design artefacts to communicate concepts and gather stakeholder feedback.
• Use tools such as Axure, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite to deliver high fidelity designs when required.
• Work closely with clients to identify their needs, articulate challenges, and propose user centric solutions.
• Deliver engaging presentations and workshops to convey design rationale and build stakeholder alignment.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams, including developers, product owners, and business analysts, to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
• Advocate for HCD principles within project teams and broader organizational contexts, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity are prioritized.
• Stay updated with emerging trends in HCD, UX/UI design, and digital transformation to inform innovative practices.
• Contribute to the development of internal frameworks, tools, and methodologies to advance the HCD discipline.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:• Proven experience in Human Centered Design, UX/UI design, or a similar roles.
• Expertise in HCD principles, design thinking, and agile delivery frameworks.
• Strong user research skills, with the ability to turn complex insights into actionable design solutions.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Axure, Figma, Adobe XD).
• Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to present complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrate ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced consulting environment.
• A creative problem solver with a user first mindset.
• Collaborative and team oriented, with a strong commitment to delivering value for clients.
• Adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.
• Passionate about creating inclusive and accessible solutions that make a meaningful impact.
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
• Experience with service design, including creating service blueprints and ecosystem maps.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
• Familiarity with front end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS) to facilitate collaboration with development teams.
• Relevant certifications in UX design, HCD, or Agile methodologies

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $58,000.00 $136,200.00.
