The Senior Manager, Offsite Energy Investments, leads strategic planning and management of Walmart's renewable energy portfolio to support the company's sustainability goals. This role oversees financial and operational performance of offsite renewable projects, drives risk management, and guides investment decisions. The position requires collaboration across teams to optimize portfolio outcomes, negotiate agreements, and deliver comprehensive reporting to senior leadership. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, data-driven forecasting, and alignment with long-term energy objectives, ensuring effective capital deployment and advancing Walmart's commitment to renewable energy and emissions reduction.
About the team:

The Offsite Energy Investments team leads Walmart's grid-connected clean energy initiatives by managing tax-advantaged investments and power purchase agreements in deregulated markets. Collaborating with developers, utilities, and internal partners, the team structures transactions to unlock federal tax credits and attract capital. Their work supports new generation capacity, enhances grid reliability, and mitigates electricity cost exposure. Through strategic portfolio management and partnerships, the team advances Walmart's energy strategy, delivering long-term financial value aligned with company goals. This team emphasizes continuous improvement, financial analysis, and effective communication to drive sustainable energy investments.
What you'll do:
  • Define and execute long-term strategies to advance Walmart's renewable energy and zero emissions objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of a multi-gigawatt offsite renewable energy portfolio, guiding risk management and optimization.
  • Lead financial and operational analysis for tax equity and other investment portfolios, ensuring strong outcomes.
  • Manage forecasting and reporting to support budget decisions and track progress toward renewable energy goals.
  • Support negotiation and execution of power purchase agreements and capital investments aligned with sustainability targets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to inform decision-making and communicate portfolio performance.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
