We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care, emergency room experience, or high acute family medicine experience treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region.

Sign on bonus for external candidates

Compensation

Salary Range - Standard:
$116,818.13 - $158,100.02

Salary Range - Float or Premium Center:
$126,633.13 - $167,915.02

Job Summary

Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants

Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners

Work Experience

One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required. Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience.

Required Licenses/Certifications

National Certification

Active state medical licensure

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred

Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.

Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required.

Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred

Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records

Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills

Strong communication and customer service skills

Essential Functions

Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job's purpose and objectives. Following are the essential functions of the job.

Examining and treating patients

Taking patients' medical histories

Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays

Making diagnoses and prescribing medications

Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting

Recording progress notes for follow-up patients

Educating and counseling patients

Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients

Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care

Each provider will work an anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care

All other duties as assigned
