Full Job Description
Sodexo is seeking a Unit Safety Manager to support a client in Rahway, NJ. The ideal candidate brings strong pharmaceutical operations and industrial hygiene experience, and the proven ability to lead complex environmental, health, and safety programs.

This role is responsible for advancing safety performance through compliance leadership, hazard mitigation, stakeholder engagement, and the implementation of innovative programs that enhance operational effectiveness and client satisfaction.

About the job

Join a role where you'll serve as a key member of the local leadership team, overseeing Quality Assurance and all Food, Physical, and Environmental Safety programs across a multisite portfolio. You will provide HS&E expertise during new account due diligence, transitions, and stabilization while driving operational excellence, compliance, and risk mitigation. In this role, you'll partner with site leaders to strengthen safety culture, deliver training, conduct audits, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The role of an individual contributor within the organization focuses on completing specific tasks and projects; contributing directly through their skills and expertise. Performs specialized technical tasks to support operations. Work is primarily achieved independently, however may collaborate with a team.

Pay Range: $120190 - $155540

What you'll bring
  • Experience leading HS&E programs across multiple locations or within complex operational portfolios.
  • Knowledge of OSHA 30 requirements and site-specific regulatory standards.
  • Expertise in Federal, State, and local regulations including Hazardous Energy Control, Confined Space Entry, Asbestos, Lead, GHS/Right to Know, Fall Prevention, and Stormwater.
  • Experience conducting audits, evaluating hazards, implementing mitigation tools, and training staff.
  • Skill in analyzing incident trends, chemical exposures, and sustainability factors.
  • Competence in tracking program effectiveness, reporting safety performance, and ensuring compliance objectives are met.
