Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians in performing high-quality ultrasound exams as per AIUM protocols
  • Obtain and correlate essential patient information for accurate diagnosis
  • Perform ultrasound scans and provide direct patient care as required
  • Communicate findings effectively to interpreting physicians
  • Generate accurate computerized reports for physician review
  • Ensure proper documentation in the ultrasound reporting system post-exam
  • Prepare and maintain ultrasound rooms for efficient patient flow
  • Assist with sterile ultrasound guided procedures as directed by interpreting physicians
  • Support OBGYN Physicians with ultrasound guided procedures in the Ambulatory Surgery Center
  • Observe safety procedures and maintain HIPAA compliance
  • Report equipment deficiencies to appropriate personnel

Job Description
Under the general supervision of theDirector/Women's HealthManager, the Women9s HealthSonographerassiststhe OB/GYNphysicianwithinterpreting the diagnosisutilizingessential medical history and clinical correlation of patientsandperforming ultrasound examinationsthat follow the AIUM guidelines.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:

  • Assiststhe physicians in executingoptimumquality ultrasound exams as per the AIUM protocols ina timelyefficient manor while obtaining images that supportsthe diagnosis documented by the interpreting MD

  • Obtains essential information from patients, medicalrecordsandpreviousexams for clinical correlation

  • Performs ultrasound scans and provides direct patient care as needed after proper confirmation of study and patient identification

  • Effectively communicates differentials to interpreting physicians

  • Generatesaccuratecomputerized reports for the physicians92 review

  • Upon completion of the ultrasound exam, verifying proper documentation in ultrasound reporting system

  • Ensures that each assigned room is properly stocked and is prepared for smooth dailypatient flow

  • Assistswith all aspects of sterile ultrasound guided procedures as directed by the interpreting MD

  • Assist OBGYN Physicians in need of ultrasound guided procedures in the Ambulatory Surgery Center

  • Prepares the necessary supplies and paperwork to support the physician for sterile procedures

  • Observes and follows safety procedures including universal precautions

  • Maintains proper HIPPA compliance whilemaintaininga familiarity to any changesregardingtechnology and the safety for self,patientsand visitors

  • Operates the equipment toacquirea variety of imaging results, reports deficiencies to the proper personnel for rectification of any concerns

  • Assistswith back-up coverage for any unscheduled PTOor cross coverage needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program

  • ActiveOB/GYNRegistryby American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS)

  • Experience inOB/GYN/High Risk ultrasoundpreferred, however would consider providing extensive training for a strong candidate

  • Proficientcomputer skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must be flexiblefortravel to allSummit Health sites in Westchester County and Greenwich, CT.

Pay Range: $42.12 - $52.69 Hourly

The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
