Position Description: Join CGI's Intelligent Automation practice as the technical and governance lead for a greenfield enterprise UiPath program. You will design and stand up a production UiPath environment from the ground up, define how the automation program operates, and set the standards that every future automation is built and run against.
This is a high visibility role with direct access to client leadership and the rare opportunity to build an automation Center of Excellence (CoE) from day one. You will be backed by CGI's global automation community, training and certification resources, and a collaborative team of architects, developers, and business analysts, with clear room to grow into practice leadership.
This role is located in South Bend, Indiana, but will consider remote candidates throughout the USA.
Your future duties and responsibilities: . Platform build: Plan, architect, install, and configure a production UiPath environment from the ground up (Orchestrator, Robots, Studio, and related components), including Dev/Test/Prod separation, high availability, disaster recovery, licensing, and capacity sizing.
. Access management: Establish role based access control in Orchestrator, Active Directory/Entra ID integration and SSO, least privilege robot and service accounts, and secure credential storage (e.g., CyberArk, Azure Key Vault, Orchestrator Credential Assets).
. Change control: Define source control (Git), branching and code review standards, CI/CD pipelines for package promotion, release and rollback procedures, and alignment with the enterprise Change Advisory Board (CAB) and ITSM processes.
. Security: Implement security guardrails aligned to enterprise policy, including server and robot hardening, encryption in transit and at rest, audit logging, segregation of duties and support for security reviews and compliance audits.
. Monitoring and operations: Stand up Orchestrator alerting, log forwarding to enterprise monitoring tools, job and queue SLAs, incident/problem management runbooks, and a production support (hypercare and steady state) model.
. Operating model: Define how the automation program operates (centralized, federated, or hybrid CoE), including governance bodies, demand intake and prioritization, pipeline management, and benefits tracking.
. Roles and responsibilities: Define the program RACI covering CoE lead, solution architects, RPA developers, business analysts, process owners, platform administrators, and support teams.
. Delivery leadership: Lead process assessments and solution design, review developer work, and coach and mentor the automation delivery team.
. Reporting and advisory: Report platform health, program status, and value realized to client and CGI leadership, and advise on scaling, licensing, and roadmap (e.g., Document Understanding, AI and agentic automation).
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . 8+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years of hands on RPA experience with the UiPath platform.
. Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and administering UiPath Orchestrator and Robots in a production enterprise environment (on premises and/or Automation Cloud).
. Proven track record establishing RPA governance and guardrails, including access control, change management, security controls, and production monitoring in the banking or financial services industry.
. Experience defining an automation operating model or Center of Excellence, including roles and responsibilities, intake and prioritization, development standards, and support processes.
. Solid working knowledge of Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, networking, Active Directory, and identity/SSO integration.
. Experience applying source control and CI/CD tooling (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) to the automation lifecycle.
. Working knowledge of ITSM processes (incident, change, problem) and tools such as ServiceNow.
. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present to and influence both technical and executive stakeholders.
