OverviewThis is an office-based position.
Responsibilities
The Experienced UI/UX Designer is responsible for designing, prototyping, and testing information architectures for web-based and other software products, including mobile and web console devices. The Designer delivers design for features and small product areas with growing independence, self-serving research and usability validation without requiring hand-off to a separate function. This is an established professional with a full working knowledge of UI/UX design practices who continues to develop skills and competencies across core design and research disciplines. This role requires a moderate skill set with developing proficiency and uses prior work experience to complete more complex design tasks with minimal guidance.
- Design, prototype, and test information architectures for web-based or other software products, including mobile and web console devices, creating user experiences using design concepts with minimal supervision.
- Translate ideas and concepts into wireframes, user task flow diagrams, and design specifications, including sitemaps, user flows, and information architecture, with increasing independence and consistency.
- Develop user personas, journey maps, and interaction models to annotate user flows and journeys, communicating end-user needs and design intent to product and development teams.
- Design interaction states, including empty, loading, error, and success states, transitions, and micro interactions to create consistent and functional interface experiences.
- Collaborate with front-end developers, back-end developers, marketing, and product teams to meet technical and business objectives for product design, with growing independence in managing cross-functional relationships.
- Communicate and present design concepts and user needs to stakeholders, incorporating feedback while refining design deliverables with increasing independence.
- Plan and conduct usability evaluations, user interviews, and testing sessions with growing independence, translating findings into actionable design improvements without requiring hand-off to a separate research function.
- Participate in design reviews and critiques, providing and receiving constructive feedback to support design quality and consistency across assigned projects.
- Conduct competitive analysis and stay current with design trends, tools, and industry best practices, contributing observations and recommendations to team discussions.
- Contribute to maintaining the design system, including components, patterns, and style guides, ensuring visual and interaction consistency across assigned product areas.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and design sprints, collaborating with product managers and engineers to contribute to design timelines and sprint deliverables.
- Operates with growing independence across assigned features and product areas, and may assist less-experienced team members with design feedback and foundational guidance.
