ResponsibilitiesPOSITION SUMMARY: The Tunneling Project Superintendent's primary responsibility is to manage a project by leading all crews and subcontractors to get the project completed safely, on time, and on budget.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Safety:
- Responsible for overall job safety, leads by example, holds oneself along with others accountable. Sets expectations high to continually improve our safety culture.
- Responsible for adherence to Posillicos SUE procedures and applicable local or state procedures, ensuring the field team has completed required training.
- Leads and manages daily risk assessments, toolbox talks, and required training as per Posillicos' safety manual and ensures compliance with project-specific safety requirements.
- Ensure that the jobsite meets or exceeds all OSHA standards.
- Engages with field staff on ideas or concerns to improve the safety of all.
Payroll and Equipment Reports:
- Reviews or submits a daily time sheet every workday.
- Ensure accuracy of time sheets and equipment.
- Maintains accurate equipment count reports and utilization reports. Experience with cloud-based field apps is preferred.
Scheduling:
- Coordinate all work with Sub-contractors
- Coordinate all Utility requirements with providers.
- Schedule Labor and Equipment with the Project Manager and Dispatcher each day by 1:00 PM for the following day.
- Submit a rolling four-week look-ahead, updated weekly, to the Division Manager & General Super
Planning:
- Plans all work on project four weeks in advance.
- Meet regularly with Project Manager and/or Project Engineer to review and coordinate upcoming work and needs, such as equipment, material, and subcontractors.
Supervision:
- Supervises, trains, and ensures that all tasks are carried out by the Foreman.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:- Ten years of experience in heavy civil work, including MTBM, conventional or HDD required, or a B.S. degree in a relevant field and 5 years of experience in Microtunneling, conventional tunneling, and geotechnical work
- Experience in Heavy Construction (site-work, roads, or environmental.
- Must be capable of meeting deadlines, self-motivated, detail-oriented, have above-average interpersonal skills, and have excellent follow-through capability.
- Verbal and written communication skills are essential to this position.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment; able to accurately process written documents, perform duties on time, be highly organized, and able to interface; communicate effectively with the company, clients, and field personnel at all levels.
