WRA is currently seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer in our Fairfax, VA office. This position will work with other Virginia regions as well. Responsibilities: • Hydrologic/hydraulic (H/H) studies and drainage • Stormwater management (SWM) and erosion/sediment control (ESC) design primarily for transportation projects • Performing hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) watershed analysis and modeling for river mechanics / Floodplain Studies • Preparation or modification of drainage design on CADD drawings/ construction plan documents • Water quality, quantity, design per VA DEQ regulations • Storm sewer system design and profiles • Erosion and sediment control design • Bridge/culvert hydraulics and design, including scour analysis Other duties may include performing GIS based project background mapping, utilization of H&H modeling software, technical report preparation, and construction cost estimating. Some field work may be required;, therefore, the candidate will need a vehicle or access to transportation for this position. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program • 5-10 years of relevant experience • EIT certification required, PE preferred • Experience designing drainage, stormwater management systems/BMP's, erosion and sediment pollution controls; and preparing contract documents preferred. • Experience with H/H design software including HY-8, NRCS (TR-55/TR-20); HydroCAD, StreamStats, HEC-RAS, Pondpack et. al preferred • Hands-on experience with MicroStation CADD software. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
