Plunket Cooney, one of the largest and most accomplished law firms in the Midwest, is looking to add a Transportation Litigation Attorney to their dynamic team. We are looking for a motivated legal professional to join a collaborative team with a strong reputation for excellence, while also building their own practice in a supportive and well-established environment.
The ideal candidate will be a versatile, client-focused attorney with a proven ability to handle complex litigation matters. This role offers significant client contact and the opportunity to work on a wide range of challenging cases in both state and federal courts.
To be considered, a candidate must have:
- 4 years plus of litigation experience, preferably in defense matters, transportation law and litigation practice including PIP and SIU experience.
- Proficiency in the independent handling of litigation files such as commercial auto, PIP fraud investigations, premises liability, general negligence, property damage, construction and/or personal injury related.
- Experience handling Michigan no-fault, third party & commercial auto liability and network transportation claims.
- Courtroom experience in Michigan state and/or federal courts.
- Knowledge of and experience with local rules and court procedures.
- Excellent research, legal brief writing and communication skills.
- Experience in all aspects of litigation, including, drafting pleadings, taking depositions, and arguing motions.
- A strong commitment to professional excellence and ongoing development.
- A demonstrated ability and desire to grow a client base and expand existing relationships.
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to the Michigan Bar in good standing.
