Crawford, Murphy & Tilly is seeking a
Transportation Project Manager to join the Surface Transportation team in our Jacksonville, FL office. This is not a remote position.
As a Transportation Project Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting the growing Jacksonville, FL Surface Transportation team while providing the opportunity to experience new challenges in a dynamic environment. Join us and help shape the future of engineering and consulting.
Here's what you'll do:
- Perform and lead projects including client management, supervising and directing junior staff in support of the group manager and the team at large
- Manage and mentor junior staff while overseeing technical design tasks
- Prepare comprehensive bidding documents including project finances
- Responsible for project task management and adherence to project deadlines, budget, and scope
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes
- Support client managers and help grow relationships with Surface Transportation clients
- Contribute to business development through outreach, proposals, and community engagement
- Serve as a client manager or the ability/desire to grow into a client-facing professional capable of delivering high-quality products and services to our clients
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations
Here is what you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or related field
- 8-12+ years' experience with an emphasis in roadway/highway design
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida, or the ability to gain licensure in the state within 6 months
- Demonstrated technical design expertise in transportation projects including geometric design, grading, drainage, pavements, utilities, quantities, engineering reports, and specifications
- Previous project leadership experience required
- Proficient knowledge in OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and active listening skills
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines and multiple concurrent tasks.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement solutions
- Ability to manage multiple assignments on a variety of projects
- Demonstrated responsiveness, professionalism, and teamwork
Ideally, you will also have:
- Experience in Roadway Project Management with FDOT and/or local agencies
- Experience in business development and staff mentoring
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Physical Requirements:
- Physical demands vary depending on the specific nature of assigned projects.
- Office tasks: physical requirements are minimal and include prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Fieldwork: including but not limited to site visits, field surveys, and construction inspections could involve more physical demands

The expected compensation range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 annually. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location.
