HDR is looking for a Transportation Planning Project Manager to join our North Carolina team. This position may be based out of any of our NC offices (Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville, Winston-Salem, Wilmington). In the role of Transportation Planning Project Manager, we'll count on you to:
• Work as a member of our transportation planning section.
• Provide technical expertise at project level and assist with growing HDR's transportation planning and environmental services program through development of client relationships and identification of opportunities for expansion of our services.
• Take responsibility for project management and staff management, as well as marketing, business development and client management.
• Establish sequencing of environmental tasks/projects, from financial management of project through successful completion, utilizing our technology, standards and project delivery practices.
• Plan and direct medium- to large-sized environmental/planning tasks/projects for our core business groups, including transportation, water/wastewater, resources, federal facilities, and other programs as identified.
• Prepare, plan and analyze/review technical studies, NEPA/SEPA documents and similar reports/documents.
• Accomplish work independently and through coordinating or supervising small to large technical and professional teams from local and regional offices.
• Support regional and national projects in specific areas of technical expertise and be closely involved in public participation and multiple agency coordination.
• Take responsibility for project management, including development and management of project budgets, schedules and quality of products.
• Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
• PE license, local candidates are preferred
• AICP certification

• Bachelor's degree in related field
• 7 years related experience
• A minimum of 2 years project management experience
• Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
