Transportation Market Practice Leader - Ohio and Indiana

Location: Columbus, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and New Albany



S&ME is seeking a motivated and results-driven Practice Leader to help us expand into and lead our growth in the Transportation market across Ohio and Indiana. As the Transportation Market Practice Leader in these states, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping S&ME's presence in a high-demand, rapidly evolving market by driving new revenue, building client partnerships, and developing high-performing teams.

What You Will Do:

Drive Growth and Market Expansion
  • Develop and execute a strategic growth plan within the Transportation market in Ohio and Indiana
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve and exceed revenue targets within the market for our key services: geotechnical engineering, field exploration, environmental engineering, materials testing, laboratory testing, and Construction Engineering and Inspection (CE&I)

Build Relationships that Matter
  • Establish and grow key client relationships at both local and national levels
  • Collaborate with local operations and expand existing client relationships
  • Leverage your network and industry presence to position S&ME as a trusted partner
  • Deliver exceptional client experiences that lead to repeat business and long-term partnerships

Lead, Build, and Inspire Teams
  • Partner with internal leaders to build the team, capabilities, and resources needed to scale
  • Mentor and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth

Deliver Excellence
  • Ensure projects are executed with a focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction
  • Stay ahead of market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement to keep S&ME at the forefront of this market


What You Bring:
  • Proven success driving revenue growth of our core services (geotechnical, environmental, civil and construction materials testing/special inspections) within the Transportation market
  • Strong industry network and client relationships
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in project/program or market leadership roles for an engineering, construction, and/or consulting firm
  • You have a proven track record of success winning and delivering opportunities for multiple clients within the Transportation market
  • Relevant professional licensure (PE/PG or equivalent)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus, not a requirement
