Full Job Description
The Transportation Engineer II position is technical engineering work involving the performance of complex engineering duties for MaineDOT's Highway Program. This position will be introduced to project management principles and advanced technical engineering duties/responsibilities. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are required. Work is performed under limited supervision . To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience: Licensure as a Professional Engineer which includes at least two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates independent design, engineering analysis based on established standards, and progressively responsible work overseeing complex engineering projects with increased accountability. Licensing/Registration/Certification Requirements: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class). Licensure as a Professional Engineer as issued by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.
