As our Transportation and Logistics Manager - Bulk Liquid/Chemical, you'll manage bulk liquid transportation for our Admixtures business. You'll partner with Procurement, manufacturing plants, Customer Service, and carriers to improve delivery reliability and freight efficiency while maintaining safety, regulatory compliance, and product quality.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary contact for bulk liquid carriers, managing relationships and service expectations.
Partner with Procurement to negotiate competitive lane rates, fuel surcharges, accessorial charges, and dedicated capacity agreements.
Establish carrier scorecards and monitor key measures, including on-time delivery, safety performance, and service reliability.
Resolve carrier disputes, billing discrepancies, equipment breakdowns, rejected trailers, and loading delays to minimize disruptions.
Plan and combine orders to optimize multi-compartment loads, maximize payload capacity, meet legal axle weight requirements, and reduce freight costs per gallon.
Coordinate with manufacturing plants, Customer Service, and carrier dispatch to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
Ensure transportation activities comply with applicable safety and regulatory requirements and company policies.
Develop and enforce procedures for multi-product split loads to prevent cross-contamination and protect product quality.
Perform assigned tasks in conformance with procedures and instructions established in the Business Management System (BMS) and in compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
