CEIS | Power is seeking a Transmission Operations Engineer to support one of our top clients in Phoenix, AZ.
Role Overview• Transmission Operations Engineer supporting transmission system operations, engineering analysis, and long-range system planning.
• Supports technical decision-making and resolution of complex engineering and operational issues affecting system reliability.
Core Responsibilities• Perform engineering analyses, studies, evaluations, investigations, and technical reviews to support transmission operations.
• Conduct and interpret power flow studies to support operational and planning decisions.
• Develop solutions to technical engineering and system reliability issues.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure project objectives, schedules, and technical requirements are met.
• Prepare engineering reports, recommendations, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and support to less-experienced engineers as needed.
Required Experience (Non-Negotiable)•
Engineer II: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution and a minimum of 2 years of engineering-related experience.

Engineer III: Bachelor's degree in an approved engineering or applied science discipline and a minimum of 5 years of engineering-related experience.
•
Senior Engineer: Bachelor's degree in an approved engineering or applied science discipline and a minimum of 8 years of engineering-related experience.
- Engineer III and Senior Engineer candidates must hold or be able to obtain NERC Reliability Coordinator certification within 6 months of hire
• Proficiency in Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and intermediate Copilot skills.
Preferred / Valuable Background• Experience conducting power flow studies.
• Experience in the utility industry.
• Knowledge of engineering codes, standards, practices, methods, and safety requirements.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills.
Role Logistics•
Work Location: Phoenix, AZ 85021.
•
Work Model: Hybrid/Flex, onsite a minimum of once per week on Thursdays.
•
Hours: Flexible schedule between approximately 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM; must attend a 6:30 AM call when assigned on-call responsibilities.
On call phone for 1 out of 8 weeks (on a rotation)
•
Overtime: Variable overtime may occur during assigned on-call weeks when responding to calls outside normal business hours.
•
Contract Length: 6 months with high possibilty of extension or conversion to full time.
