Your future role on our teamWe're seeking amotivated and detail-oriented Transmission Line Engineer to join our growingengineering team. You'll be responsible for designing and analyzing overheadand underground high-voltage transmission line projects, ranging from 115 kV to765 kV. This role offers the opportunity to work on utility-scale projects andcollaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic consulting environment.
With us, you'll get the opportunityto...- Perform detailed design of overhead transmission lines, including:
- Conductor and shield wire selection
- Structure spotting and optimization
- Sag and tension calculations
- Clearance analysis - Prepare engineering deliverables such as:
- Plan and profile drawings
- Stringing charts
- Design calculations and technical reports - Conduct structural load analysis for poles and towers under wind, ice and broken-wire conditions
- Coordinate with civil, geotechnical, environmental and survey teams
- Review vendor drawings and support procurement activities
- Provide engineering support during construction and respond to field inquiries
- Ensure designs comply with applicable CSA standards, utility requirements and regulatory guidelines
Projectmanagement and client engagement
- Provide engineering services and consulting work as a lead designer or as a supporting team member, building client relationships
- Participate in project management activities, including cost tracking, deadline management and resource planning
- Lead coordination meetings, both internally and with clients, demonstrating technical leadership
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to inform design decisions
- Participate in commissioning equipment at client sites, locally and internationally, ensuring successful project delivery
Leadershipand mentoring
- Coach and mentor junior and intermediate engineers, fostering their technical growth and professional development
- Supervise and guide junior and intermediate team members through complex design projects and problem-solving processes
- Share your expertise by leading design reviews and providing constructive feedback for technical work
- Support the development of technical skills and career progression for junior team members

Summary of certifications and jobrequirements- Bachelor's degree in electrical, civil or structural engineering
- Registered as a professional engineer in the United States or eligible for registration within 1 month of hiring
- At least 8 years of transmission line design experience
- Working knowledge of CSA standards and utility design practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and/or PLS-TOWER
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or MicroStation
- Experience working with LiDAR data and terrain models
- Knowledge of foundation design or geotechnical coordination
- Experience with transmission line uprating or rehabilitation projects
Software experience:
- PLS-CADD
- PLS-POLE / PLS-TOWER
- AutoCAD / Civil 3D / MicroStation
- ArcGIS or other GIS tools
- Microsoft Excel (advanced)
