The Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund (CICF) is seeking a Training & Outreach Coordinator to lead training and outreach efforts for employees, partners, and allied professionals.This highly visible, public-facing role is ideal for someone who enjoys building programs and relationships, confidently presenting to diverse audiences, and independently turning identified needs into organized plans and results. If you're ready to use your training, teaching, communications, outreach, or public-service experience to make a meaningful impact for Virginia's victims and those who serve them, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll DoAs the Training & Outreach Coordinator, you'll take the lead in developing and delivering training that helps CICF employees, partner agencies, and allied professionals understand CICF programs, services, processes, and resources. You'll have the opportunity to assess what training is needed, build the plan, develop engaging content, and bring that training to life, both virtually and in person.
In this role, you will:
- Assess internal and external training needs and develop plans to address identified gaps.
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging training, curriculum, presentations, and supporting materials.
- Coordinate training and onboarding resources for CICF employees, including ongoing education related to processes and procedures.
- Maintain training records, evaluate training effectiveness, and use feedback to continuously improve programming.
- Build relationships with victim-service organizations, partner agencies, and other stakeholders throughout Virginia.
- Represent CICF at trainings, workshops, conferences, coalition meetings, outreach events, and other public-facing opportunities.
- Develop resources and provide training and support related to WebFile and other CICF services.
- Coordinate outreach materials and help ensure CICF's website and public-facing information remain current and useful.
- Coordinate CICF's sponsorship program, including reviewing requests, maintaining records, communicating with applicants, and preparing information and recommendations for leadership.
Represent CICF during critical events and emergencies, including Family Assistance Center activations when needed.
These responsibilities align with the three primary functions in the updated PD: training, outreach, and sponsorship coordination, along with the newly identified critical-event responsibility.

VWC Compensation Structure- Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission is an independent agency which allows us to have a more competitive and unique pay structure.
- This position is a pay grade 8 based on a 14 grade pay structure.
- Our positions are not classified under DHRM's pay bands.
Telework Structure- Our agency is currently using a hybrid model for teleworking. Our positions currently are not 100% teleworking.
- However, we do have a liberal telework policy in place and all candidates would be expected to report to our Headquarters as requested.
- Telework scheduling is at the discretion of the position's supervisor, the Executive Director, based on the business needs of the department.
- Upon hire, candidates should expect to have all training and orientation conducted at the Headquarters Office, or as required.
Minimum Qualifications- Experience developing training materials, presentations, or educational content.
- Experience presenting information to groups and communicating effectively with diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to independently organize, plan, and carry projects through implementation.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with employees, professionals, external organizations, and the general public.
- Ability to understand complex information, policies, procedures, and regulations and communicate them in an understandable way.
- Experience using technology to support presentations, virtual training, recordkeeping, and day-to-day work.
- Ability and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight travel.
- Ability to respond flexibly when critical events or operational needs require support outside of the typical work schedule.
Additional Considerations- Experience in training, teaching, communications, community outreach, or stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working with victim services, criminal justice, human services, government, or another public-service environment.
- Knowledge of victim-service resources at the local, state, or federal level.
- Experience with claims examination, case management, victims' compensation, or related programs.
- Experience using learning management systems or other training platforms.
