Training Manager, Biotronik NEURO

The Training Manager leads BIOTRONIK NEURO's U.S. education strategy for field sales, clinical support, sales leaders, field trainers, and onboarding mentors. The role converts business priorities, field needs, product strategy, and regulatory requirements into scalable programs that build clinical, technical, product, selling, territory-management, and leadership capabilities. This role owns curriculum, certification, launch readiness, training effectiveness, and stakeholder alignment.

Essential Functions:

The Training Manager's responsibilities include the following:
  • Execute the multi-year training strategy and annual plan aligned with commercial priorities, product strategy, and global education initiatives.
  • Lead onboarding, certification, advanced, leadership, product, clinical, and selling curricula across live, virtual, digital, and blended formats.
  • Use needs assessments, field gap analyses, performance data, and learner feedback to prioritize programs and improve business impact.
  • Own learning pathways, competency models, certification standards, assessments, training records, policies, work instructions, and curriculum governance.
  • Lead product and therapy launch readiness, including content, train-the-trainer programs, field reinforcement, and post-launch measurement.
  • Maintain expertise in spinal cord stimulation therapies, BIOTRONIK NEURO products, competitive offerings, clinical workflows, and market trends.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership, Marketing, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Quality, Human Resources, R&D, and global education teams to deliver integrated, compliant solutions.
  • Provide standards, resources, guidance, and feedback to field trainers, facilitators, subject-matter experts, and onboarding mentors to ensure consistent delivery.
  • Measure certification, proficiency, time to productivity, field application, and business impact; use insights to improve programs and advise senior leaders.
  • Work within the annual budget, and assist with vendors, learning technologies, and resources; evaluate LMS enhancements and emerging tools that improve scale and analytics.
  • Assist in the planning of the national sales meetings, regional programs, congresses, and other internal learning events.
  • Lead communication and change-management efforts that drive adoption of new products, processes, competencies, and behaviors.
  • Perform other duties and strategic projects as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in learning and development, business, biology, health science, engineering, nursing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in medical device, neuromodulation, life sciences, or another regulated healthcare environment.
  • Five or more years in field sales, clinical support, commercial education, or sales training.
  • Demonstrated success leading technical, clinical, product, and commercial training for geographically dispersed teams.
  • Proven expertise in adult learning, curriculum and certification design, needs assessment, and training measurement.
  • Working knowledge of medical-device regulatory, quality, legal, and promotional-compliance requirements.
  • Strong writing, presentation, facilitation, and executive-influence skills.
  • Ability to travel 30-50%, including overnight travel and occasional evening, weekend, or international commitments.


Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Seven or more years in neuromodulation, spinal cord stimulation, or invasive medical-device therapy, including implant and follow-up support.
  • Medical-device sales management or commercial leadership experience.
  • Experience leading major product launches and national sales-meeting education.
  • Certification in facilitation, instructional design, curriculum architecture, coaching, or change management.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, learning technologies, and complex cross-functional projects.
  • Experience coordinating trainer networks, facilitators, or subject-matter experts across a geographically dispersed organization.
  • Experience optimizing an LMS and partnering across global, matrixed teams.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Lead and provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and development for the Field Sales Training Team to ensure consistent, high-quality execution of training priorities.
  • Influence and guide members of the field sales organization without direct reporting authority during training classes, reinforcing expectations, accountability, and application of learning.
  • The role may assume direct supervisory responsibilities in the future as the organization and Field Sales Training Team evolve.


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment whether on-site or remote. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, camera, and phones.

Physical Demands:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This largely sedentary role includes in-person facilitation requiring extended standing, movement during workshops, and occasional lifting of equipment up to approximately 25 pounds. The role also requires routine use of hands, arms, speech, and hearing.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Full-time, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary by supported time zone; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Travel:

Approximately 30-50% domestic overnight travel is expected for classes, internal programs, sales meetings, and congresses. Rare international travel may occur.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Must complete BIOTRONIK NEURO product certification if not already certified.
