The NASCAR Track Support Representative will provide on-site trackside support for Pratt Miller software tools and technology initiatives at NASCAR races. Support will focus on proprietary data acquisition, processing, management, and delivery.
The ideal candidate will possess a technical background, preferably in computer science/IT, and have 3 or more years of experience working with both Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, and network design and management. Experience development in .NET and python is preferred but not required.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills. A positive attitude, and an established ability to operate in high pressure environments is preferred.
Experience in motorsports, specifically NASCAR, is a plus, but not a requirement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Candidate will be the first level trackside contact for all Pratt Miller software tools at NASCAR race events and will be responsible for providing IT and technology support for trackside technology initiatives. Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide on-site technical and user support for all Pratt & Miller software tools at NASCAR Sprint Cup races (41 events per year); also provide limited support for supported Truck teams at companion events
- Provide expert-level user support for clients as needed
- Proactively check in with clients to identify support needs
- Provide first-level support and intermediary communication with higher level support personnel
- Actively monitor health and performance of competition tools and services
- Provide informal training to end users as needed
- Provide support or assistance for other devices and toolsets which interact with Pratt Miller software
- Report technical issues and user feedback to Pratt Miller software development staff
- Maintain a trackside library of all current versions of Pratt Miller software toolsets and support materials
- Implement and support technology-driven projects for communication, data dissemination, and competitive evaluation initiatives
- Manage and maintain all trackside technology systems (networking, PCs, internet, satellite)
- Receive regular training and updates on Pratt Miller software toolsets utilized in the NASCAR program
- Assist in the production and distribution of weekly reports
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be. assigned as required:
- Attendance at Pratt & Miller meetings
- Education / training
- Provide feedback on product needs and processes
- Support Pratt Miller initiatives as necessary
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:Desired Education- BS or MS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in Information Technology, Systems Support, or Database Administration
Desired Specialized Knowledge and Skills- Outgoing personality, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a customer-focused attitude
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and arrive at a practical solution
- Understanding of Microsoft Windows/Windows Server operating systems
- Understanding of Linux operating systems
- Experience with networking concepts (domains, authentication, security groups, maintenance, and networking)
- Background in enterprise-level software deployment and support
- Experience designing and implementing networking infrastructure
- Experience in soldering
- Knowledge of basic (non-line level) electrical systems
- Demonstrated capability to research, understand, and implement new technology
- Ability to work independently but seek additional assistance when required

Work Environment/Physical Demands- Extensive, independent travel and long hours are required (41 events per year)

Pay Range: $79,300.00 - $126,900.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations.
