Full Job Description
Could you be the full-time Track Supervisor in New York we're looking for? Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your leadership and technical expertise in a dynamic and innovative field. You'll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates. You'll play a key role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our track systems. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (including maintenance personnel, contractors, and safety officers), plan and oversee work schedules, and ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control measures. You'll specifically take care of supervising the maintenance and repair of mainline and yard tracks, special track work, and related systems, but also support the training and development of Track Maintenance personnel. We'll look to you for: • Supervising corrective and preventive maintenance for mainline and yard tracks, switch machines, running rail, structures, reaction rails, power rails, drainage, walkways, and fencing. • Planning work schedules to ensure proper support for track maintenance and scheduling employees and contractors. • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and safe work practices, including Safety Directive and Site Warden mandates, and verifying that completed work meets safety and quality standards. • Evaluating and training Track Maintenance personnel to maintain the required level of technical and safety knowledge. • Ensuring accurate and complete data entries into MAXIMO. • Operating and maintaining heavy diesel rail equipment, including rail grinders, UniMogs, Rail Kings, speeders, and cranes. Instead, we've listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role: • Graduation from high school or equivalent with specialized training in electrical and mechanical systems, or Journeyman electrician with mechanical experience. • 1-2 years of track maintenance experience (required). • Experience leading or supervising a team in a union environment (required). • Experience in the railway industry (required). • 5 years of track maintenance experience (preferred). • 5 years of supervisory experience in a union environment (preferred). • Familiarity with FRA (Federal Railroad Administration) Class IV regulations. • Knowledge of track, guideway structures, and heavy equipment used for rail maintenance. • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows operating applications. • Valid driver's license in accordance with New York State Motor Vehicle Laws. • Physical ability to lift 50-75 lbs., walk and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and work under varying weather conditions.
