Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Texas State Manager to join the Distinguished Vineyards Wholesale team! Reporting to the South Central Regional Director, this role is responsible to drive account and wholesaler engagement strategy for the area, grow meaningful distribution in top fine wine accounts across broad market channels and assigned regional chains, work with RSD to deliver effective programming strategies. This role is based in Northern or Central Texas and is a Salaried, Exempt position, working fully remote with frequent travel within specified territory and the incumbent qualifies for our outstanding health care benefits, PTO, 401k plan, wine allowance and more!

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or equivalent experience
  • 5 years minimum wine sales, ideally with wholesale experience
  • Selling to on and off premise channels
  • Wine specific accreditation is a desired (WSET, MS, etc)
  • Systems & software experience desired (Excel, AC Nielsen, iDig, Salesforce)
  • Demonstrated success in the fine wine business, working knowledge of the 3 tier system
  • Demonstrated experience working with and influencing multiple stakeholders in wholesaler
  • Understanding of retail chain dynamics in the region: purchasing , pricing , and promotional strategies and tactics used for fine wine
  • Market expertise: customer and channel profiles, margin standards, compliance/pricing
  • Self starter , independent with strong organizational skills
  • Customer focused, able to create win/win solutions
  • Passionate about building strong relationships with wholesalers and accounts
  • Can build and deliver impactful presentations to accounts
  • Able to analyse the business, and focus on high-growth opportunities
  • Collaboration, ability to achieve with others (internal and external)

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

MARKET DEVELOPMENT:
  • Be active in the market 3+ days per week in home market, bimonthly travel to core TX markets
  • Virtual touchpoint for outlying markets (CCR / ELP / LUB)

ACCOUNT DEVELOPMENT:
  • Own and grow direct relationships with fine wine on/off premise accounts, invest in the customer, grow the business
  • Build direct relationships and grow with key on premise buying groups in the area
  • Build direct relationships and grow with assigned specialty retail chains
  • Build and utilize top account target lists as a road map to capture high value distribution

WHOLESALER ENGAGEMENT:
  • Build relationships with market leaders and key selling teams, key account chain teams (local chain coverage)
  • Work actively with influential distributor sales associates in area
  • Hold team meetings in key markets (training, seminars, etc.)
  • Provide information(market and wholesaler) to DV leader for effective business updates
  • Consistently acknowledge and reward our top performing distributor sales people

DVWP TEAMWORK:• Collaborate with DV leader on pricing, programming and market engagement strategies
• Follow retail chain 'road map' provided by Regional Director (who calls on who)
• Align programming with other team members, initiatives and best practices across the region

SALES PERFORMANCE• Execute against annual sales targets and account sold targets for the area
• Partner Brand Directors to execute key brand initiatives and events in the area
• Manage the execution and track performance against DVWP annual Marketing Calendar
• Manage T&E within budget
