Here's the Gist:

Join Wolfspeed at the forefront of silicon carbide (SiC) innovation as a Test Bench Development Engineer. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy advanced test systems that validate the performance, reliability, and durability of next generation SiC power modules. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, you'll build the tools and technologies that enable product qualification, reliability research, and continuous innovation in power electronics.

The Day-to-Day:
  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced test benches to support reliability validation of Wolfspeed's SiC power modules.
  • Partner with Reliability, Product, and Applications Engineering teams to translate testing objectives into robust hardware, software, and instrumentation solutions.
  • Own the complete hardware development lifecycle, including schematic capture, PCB layout, prototype bring-up, verification, and release.
  • Create schematics and design complex multilayer printed circuit boards using Altium Designer or equivalent PCB design tools.
  • Perform circuit simulation and analysis using LTspice or similar tools to validate designs and optimize performance prior to fabrication.
  • Develop and evaluate analog, mixed-signal, and power circuitry to ensure measurement accuracy, system stability, and long-term reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, mechanical, and instrumentation issues to maintain high test system availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineers to support test execution, system commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design packages, operating procedures, and engineering change records.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies, instrumentation, and automation approaches that enhance test capabilities and efficiency.


This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in electrical hardware design and development.
  • Experience designing multilayer analog and mixed-signal printed circuit boards.
  • Experience with circuit simulation and analysis tools such as LTspice or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience using electronic laboratory instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators.
  • Experience debugging and validating electronic hardware at the board and system levels.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.


Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with Altium Designer.
  • Understanding of signal integrity, grounding techniques, EMI/EMC mitigation, and power distribution network design.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar mechanical CAD tools.
  • Familiarity with microcontroller-based systems such as Infineon PSoC, STM32, PIC, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with instrumentation control or data acquisition systems.
  • Experience developing hardware for high-voltage power electronics applications.
  • Familiarity with reliability testing methodologies.
