JOB SUMMARY

• The Technology Cost Accounting & FinOps Manager owns two integrated mandates for the Global Technology Organization (GTO): building the total cost of ownership (TCO) framework, financial transparency model, and business case realization, and serving as Central FinOps Owner, accountable for cloud / AI, telecom, software, and hardware spend discipline across GTO.
• Reporting to the Director ofBusiness Operations, this role ensures that technology costs are understood, allocated appropriately, and tied to value delivery. The Technology Cost Accounting & FinOps Lead partners with Finance, VMO, PMO,Supply Chain, and Technology leaders to drive cost discipline, optimize vendor and operational spending, and provide the financial insights needed to inform strategic decisions.
• The role is a key enabler of financial stewardship across GTOlinking investments, operational costs, vendor spend, cloud / AI consumption, technology usage, and business outcomes through consistent financial models and clear performance metrics.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Central FinOps Ownership

• Define and own FinOps operating model, standards, and cross-functional meeting cadences (e.g., GTO QBR, FinOps Exec Forum, FinOps Ops Review)
• Set and drive cadences for budgeting, forecasting and cost accountability
• Lead cost optimization standards with tracked savings
• Establish and oversee implementation of data requirements for integrated IT asset management

Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Management

• Define and operate the TCO model for applications, platforms, infrastructure, and services
• Establish cost transparency across labor, vendor, licensing, hardware, cloud, and support costs
• Partner with Technology leaders to identify cost optimization opportunities and rationalization targets

Business Case Development & Realization

• Develop financial models (e.g., ROI, NPV, payback) for technology initiatives
• Track benefit realization against approved business cases
• Provide insight into variances, risks to value, and required corrective actions

Financial Performance & Reporting

• Partner with Finance to align actuals, forecasts, and budget models
• Build and maintain budget forecasts and usage reports for GTO leadership and application teams
• Partner with FinOps Engineer(s) to build accessible reporting dashboards against FinOps and TCO KPIs

Vendor & Contract Financial Alignment

• Partner with VMO and Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure financial implications of contracts, rate cards, SLAs, and service levels are transparent and modeled for negotiations
• Analyze vendor cost structures and performance against commercial terms to support contract negotiations
• Track vendor contract expirations, terminations and renewals to ensure proactive contract management

Cost Optimization & Scenario Analysis

• Conduct scenario modeling to support decisionmaking around investments, sourcing changes, and architecture choices
• Lead analysis to identify duplications, inefficiencies, and opportunities for consolidation
• Provide datadriven recommendations to improve technology cost structure

Governance & Controls

• Partner with Finance to establish guidelines and standards for cost accounting and financial reporting across GTO
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, accruals, capitalization rules, and audit requirements
• Integrate cost and value metrics into governance forums (PMO, VMO, Strategy)
• Define decision rights for spend exceptions and escalation paths requiring approval for tech spend

QUALIFICATIONS

DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree

FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering or related field

EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), technology cost management, cost accounting, or FinOps management
• Strong experience with TCO models, business case development, and financial performance reporting
• Solid understanding of technology operating models, vendor contracts, and cost structures
• Handson experience with financial modeling and analytical tools (Excel, BI tools, cost modeling platforms)

Preferred Experience & Capabilities

• Experience in a large or global enterprise technology environment
• Understanding of IT service management, Technology Business Management, cloud cost frameworks, and application/platform cost models
• Experience building FinOps practices from early maturity through sustained adoption
• Ability to translate financial and technical cost data into actional insights for non-technical audiences
• Experience with vendor performance and contract cost analysis
• Strong partnership skills across Finance, VMO, PMO, vendor and internal technology teams
